Preparing Worship with Prayer
Time for Singing
Mother and God, to you we sing wide is your womb, warm is your wing. In you we live, move and are fed sweet,
flowing milk, life giving bread. Mother and God, to you we bring all broken hearts, all broken wings.
I will never forget you my people 1. I will never forget you my people, I have carved you on the palm of my hand I will never forget you, I will not leave you orphaned, I will never forget my own.
2. Does a mother forget her baby, or a woman the child within her womb? Yet even if these forget, Yes, even if these forget, I will never forget my own.
Long before the Night 1. Long before the night was born from darkness Long before the dawn rolled unsteady from fire
Long before she wrapped her scarlet arms around the hills there was a love this ancient love was born
2. Long before the grass spotted green the bare hillside Long before a wing unfolded to wind
Long before she wrapped her long blue arm around the sea there was a love this ancient love was born
3. Long before a chain was forged from the hiilside Long before a voice uttered freedom’s cry
Long before she wrapped her bleeding arms around a child there was a love this ancient love was born
4. Long before the name of God was spoken Long before a cross was nailed from a tree
Long before she laid her arm of col ours ‘cross the sky there was a love this ancient love was born
5. Wakeful are our nights and slumbers our morning Stubborn is the grass sowing green wounded hills
As we wrap our healing arms to hold what her arms held this ancient love this aching love rolls on
I Thank You, Jesus 1. A-san-te sa-na Ye-su, a-san-te sa-na Ye-su mo-yo-ni.
2. Si i-shi bi-la we-we, 3. si i-shi bi-la we-we, 4. si i-shi bi-la we-we mo-yo-ni 5. Si i-shi bi-la we-we 6. si i-shi bi-la we-we 7. si i-shi bi-la we-we mo-yo-ni
3. Ni-na-ku-pen-da Ye-su, ni-na-ku-pen-da Ye-su mo-yo-ni.
I Thank You, Jesus 1. I thank you, thank you, Jesus, I thank you, Jesus, in my heart.

Preparing Worship with Prayer
Greeting : The earth is the Lord’s and all that is in it, the world, and those who live in it. Psalm 24: 1
Welcome
Call to worship Feet : still, still now, upon the floor, no need to hurry. Hands : lie quietly at rest, no task to do just now.
Body : relax in peace, serene; now calmly rest. Mind : let go the scurrying, let thought be still, so still.
Soul : in silence vast as space, reach, yearning, loving, unto God.
Let us pray facing east From the East, the direction of the rising sun, we receive peace and light and wisdom and knowledge. We are grateful for these gifts, O God.
facing south From the South comes warmth, guidance, and the beginning and the end of life. We are grateful for these gifts, O God. facing west From the West comes the rain, purifying waters, to sustain all living things. We are grateful for these gifts, O God.
facing north From the North comes the cold and mighty wind, the white snows, giving us strength and endurance. We are grateful for these gifts, O God. facing upward From the heavens we receive darkness and light, the air of your breath, and messages from your winged creatures. We are grateful for these gifts, O God.
facing downward From the earth we come and to the earth we will return. We are grateful for these gifts, O God.
May we walk good paths, O God, living on this earth as brothers and sisters should; rejoicing in one another’s blessing, sympathizing in one another’s sorrows, and together with you, renewing the face of the earth. Amen
Worship Words : But I have learned to feel safe and satisfied, just like a young child on its mother's lap.

Prayer of Confession:
Sometimes, our sins are too heavy to carry, too real to hide, and too deep to undo. But Jesus said, “My yoke is easy and my burden is light. ” Let us bring to God in prayer our burden of sin and our yoke of guilt, confident and trusting in the Spirit of grace.
God, Sometimes life seems so complicated. Sometimes we feel we have big problems that no one can solve. Sometimes we are frustrated because we don't know why something is happening.
But God you invite us to know you. You are a mother to us who gives us everything we need. Please help us to find peace in your arms. Please give us the strength the hold others as you have held us. (Silence)
God the Creator brings you new life, forgives and redeems you. Take hold of this forgiveness, and live your life in the spirit of Jesus. Amen.
The Word is Spoken Psalm 131
1 I am not conceited, LORD, and I don't waste my time on impossible schemes. 2 But I have learned to feel safe and satisfied, just like a young child on its mother's lap. 3 People of Israel, you must trust the LORD now and forever.
sermon Psalm written by a woman
May God be with us. God is here among us. Let us open our hearts to God. We open them to God and to one another. Let us give thanks to God. It is right to give our thanks and praise.
Child: Why do we give thanks and praise at this table? Presider: We give thanks because God is always with us.
We thank you, God, Creator of us all; from the beginning you made the world and all its creatures. You made people to live for you and for one another. We praise you, O God. Halleluyah
You created Adam and Eve and gave them a garden; you showed Noah a rainbow; you gave Moses strength to free your people and taught Miriam to sing;
you gave courage to Esther and loyalty to Ruth; you gave David a harp to sing your praise, and helped him defeat the giant. We praise you, O God. Halleluyah
Yet, even they turned away from you and forgot about you, as we do too. But you did not forget. You sent Jesus to the world to show much you love us and to bring us back to you again. We praise you, O God. Halleluyah
He came as one of us, first an infant, then a child, later a youth, then an adult. He rejoiced with those who rejoiced, and wept with those who wept. To the despairing, he spoke a word of hope. To the sick, he gave healing. To the hurting, he was a friend.
Still, people turned away from you. They betrayed Jesus and nailed him to a cross. But he was lifted from the grave and restored to life, that he might be with us and we with him, alive for evermore! Therefore with all the saints of every time and place, we join the angels in their praise:
Holy, Holy, holy are you God of power and might, heaven and earth are filled with your glory.
Hosanna in the highest ! Blessed is the one who comes in your name. Hosanna in the highest, hosanna in the highest !
Child: Why do we eat bread at this table? We gather at this table to remember that on the night before he died, Jesus ate with his friends, he took a loaf of bread, and after blessing it,
he broke it and gave it to them, saying: “Take, eat. This is my body, given for you. Each time you do this, remember me. ”
Child: Why do we drink from the cup at this table? That same night, Jesus also took a cup, and after giving thanks, passed it to his friends, saying: “Drink. This cup, poured out for you, is the promise of God. Whenever you drink it, remember me. ”
Child: What do we remember at this table? We remember Jesus’ death and celebrate his resurrection; we await with hope his coming again to bring peace and justice to the earth; and we proclaim the mystery of our faith:
Memorial Acclamation Christ has died. Christ is risen. Christ will come, come again.
Child: For whom do we pray at this table? Presider: We pray for God’s world. . Send, O God, your Holy Spirit upon us and what we do here, that we and these gifts, touched by your Spirit, may be signs of life and love to one another, and to the world.
Through Christ, with Christ, and in Christ, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, all glory is yours, God most holy, now and forever.
Great Amen A-------men
Prayer of Jesus Our Father in Heaven Hallowed be your name Your kingdom come Your will be done on earth as in heaven Give us today our daily bread And forgive us our sins
As we forgive those who sin against us Save us from the time of trial And deliver us from evil For the kingdom, power and glory are yours now and forever Amen

A New Creed: We are not alone, We live in God’s world. We believe in God: who has created and in creating, Who has come in Jesus, the Word made flesh,

To love and serve others, To seek justice and resist evil, To proclaim Jesus, crucified and risen, our judge and our hope. In life, in death, in life beyond death,
