WELCOME, OPENING PRAYER AND CALL TO WORSHIP
PRAISE MY SOUL THE KING OF HEAVEN
PRAYERS OF THANKS
READING JOHN 15: 1 17 The Vine and the Branches 15 “I am the true vine and my Father is the gardener. 2 He takes away every branch that does not bear fruit in me. He prunes every branch that bears fruit so that it will bear more
clean already because of the word that I have spoken to you. 4 Remain in me, and I will remain in you. Just as the branch cannot bear fruit by itself, unless it remains in the vine, so neither can you unless you remain in me.
5 “I am the vine; you are the branches. The one who remains in me—and I in him—bears much fruit, because apart from me you can accomplish nothing. 6 If anyone does not remain in me, he is thrown out like a branch, and dries up; and such branches are gathered up and
thrown into the fire, and are burned up. 7 If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you want, and it will be done for you. 8 My Father is honoured by this, that you bear much fruit and show that you are
9 “Just as the Father has loved me, I have also loved you; remain in my love. 10 If you obey my commandments, you will remain in my love, just as I have obeyed my Father’s commandments and remain in his love. 11 I have told you these things so that my joy may be in you,
12 My commandment is this—to love one another just as I have loved you. 13 No one has greater love than this—that one lays down his life for his friends. 14 You are my friends if you do what I command you. 15 I no longer call you slaves, because
the slave does not understand what his master is doing. But I have called you friends, because I have revealed to you everything I heard from my Father. 16 You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you to go and bear fruit, fruit that remains, so that
whatever you ask the Father in my name he will give you. 17 This I command you—to love one another. This is the word of the Lord Thanks be to God
Psalm 80 O Shepherd of Israel, pay attention, you who lead Joseph like a flock of sheep. You who sit enthroned above the cherubim, reveal your splendour. 2 In the sight of Ephraim, Benjamin, and Manasseh reveal your power. Come and deliver us.
3 O God, restore us. Smile on us. Then we will be delivered 4 O Lord God of Heaven’s Armies, how long will you remain angry at your people while they pray to you? 5 You have given them tears as food; you have made them drink tears by the measure.
6 You have made our neighbours dislike us, and our enemies insult us. 7 O God of Heaven’s Armies, restore us. Smile on us. Then we will be delivered. 8 You uprooted a vine from Egypt; you drove out nations and transplanted it.
10 The mountains were covered by its shadow, the highest cedars by its branches. 11 Its branches reached the Mediterranean Sea, and its shoots the Euphrates River. 12 Why did you break down its walls, so that all who pass by pluck
13 The wild boars of the forest ruin it; the insects of the field feed on it. 4 O God of Heaven’s Armies, come back. Look down from heaven and take notice. Take care of this vine, 15 the root your right hand planted, the shoot you made to grow.
16 It is burned and cut down. May those who did this die because you are displeased with them. 17 May you give support to the one you have chosen, to the one whom you raised up for yourself. 18 Then we will not turn away from you. Revive us and we will pray to
19 O Lord God of Heaven’s Armies, restore us. Smile on us. Then we will be delivered. This is the word of the Lord Thanks be to God
