Culver City Middle School Vision Statement The vision of Culver City Middle School is to prepare our students to become productive, life-long learners and responsible citizens. We will • Close achievement gap by bringing all significant subgroups to 800 or above; • Prepare students so they are proficient across curriculum; • Integrate arts into the core curriculum; • Provide diverse after-school programming; • Provide a safe, welcoming, respectful, and encouraging culture for all stakeholders; • Welcome parent/community involvement. Mission Statement The mission of Culver City Middle School, a culturally diverse and collaborative learning community, is to ensure that all students are provided a rigorous education program. ASB Associated Student Body ASB is a school leadership opportunity for 7 th and 8 th grade students in good academic standing to participate in the following activities: • Represent the interest and goals of the entire CCMS student body. • Being the voice of the students when communicating with the faculty, school district, and community. • Plan, organize, and participate in such activities as formal and informal dances, Spirit Week, grade-level competitions, community and charity awareness projects, cultural events, and other student and school events throughout the year. ASB is a year-long class that teaches students leadership qualities throughout the year. Students who have interest in applying for ASB must submit an application form, teacher recommendation forms, and must be in good academic standing.

School Site Council/ELAC The School Site Council has developed a site plan to enhance the learning opportunities for the students at CCMS. Categorical funds are specifically earmarked to support the site plan. The council meets on the third Thursday of every month at 5: 30 p. m. Our English Learner Advisory Committee, comprised of parents, staff, and community members, is specifically designated to advise school officials on English Learner program services. They meet the second Tuesday of every month at 8: 45 am.
