Meet John, Age 21 – A Car Wash Attendant • John did not create a Program of Study and select a career cluster • John took some career and technical education courses in high school • John enrolled in college but is undecided about a career • John doesn’t like the work or the pay

Meet Tom, Age 22 – Diesel Mechanic • Tom Created a Program of Study and selected a career cluster • Tom knew what courses to take in high school • Tom took Diesel Technology in high school. He liked the class, received a diesel mechanics certification in high school and participated in an internship • Tom went to 2 year technical college. • Tom was hired fulltime with benefits where he completed the high school internship.

Meet Jody, Age 22 –Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) • Jody created a Program of Study and selected a career cluster • Jody took Health Science and Technology courses in high school • Jody received her Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification in high school and completed all her clinical rotations in high school • According to her Program of Study, Jody went on to complete 2 years of college and received an Associates Degree and her LVN certification while working at a nursing home as a CNA. • Jody enjoys working fulltime with benefits at local healthcare facility.

Meet Phil, Age 22 – Hospital Administrator • Phil Created a Program of Study and selected a career cluster • Phil knew what courses to take in high school • Phil took finance, accounting, marketing, and medical terminology classes in high school. • Phil participated in work-based learning and completed internships in high school and had a part time job in a local business. • Phil Completed a college degree in Business Administration.
