B 2 demonstrator) • Meeting between Gianni Grasso (ASG) and Christophe Berriaud (Saclay) • Redefinition of the task: main aim will be a racetrack coil system similar to those used in PT gantry systems or generators, in this case small filament layout of the wire shall be mandatory • The aim t the manufacturing of a high field system does remain unchanged (5 T) • Gianni Grasso is directly taking the lead of the task for Columbus Fu. T 5. 2 (high field MRI) • CERN did not yet confirm a person in charge for this specific task (Paolo Ferracin) • ASG is currently carrying out the design of two 11. 7 T magnets, and preparing a short list of main topics to become the main scope for the definition of the study • ASG and Tesla are cooperating in this specific field of business on key topics • ASG shall take contact with Lionel Quettier in February to begin exchange of views on main topics to be investigated • The definition of the field level to be studied(14 T or 16 T) shall be made in the next 2 months Fu. T 5. 3 (Singular magnets: social magnet, open MRI and mammography MRI) (1/2) • According with the comments on the kick-off meeting, the project has focused in the most promising field, the mammography MRI. • The work has started with a general survey on the field of MRI to determine the global requirements in the field. • A bibliography review is being performed, starting with general text books in the field and moving to the pertinent articles. • The most important part is the identification of the technologies and the required resources in each of them to carry out the phase II of the project Fu.
