Significant Safety Achievements- 3/21 • The ESDR Safety Stand Down event was completed. This year’s topics were Sample Management and COVID-19 prevention practices. • The quarterly Lab Area Safety Lead meeting was held on 3/9/21. • Provided follow-up on the broken window incident at FLEXLAB. A number of corrective actions are being worked on. FLEXLAB is developing procedures for handling glass windows, PPE for handling glass, and supplies for cleaning up broken glass. • Approximately 300 old chemicals that were collected last month were picked-up for disposal by Clean Harbors on 3/17/21. • A number of annual Work Activity renewals are in progress. We also developed several new work activities for Piranha Etch use in B 70. • I attended the annual Bay Area- American Society of Safety Professional’s annual symposium(virtual). I also served as a session moderator. • I participated as a lead judge for the annual Contra Costa Science Fair (virtual). We had some very good entries this year!
Short Term Safety Outlook 4/21 • Participate in the upcoming Planned Power Outage Table Top Drill activity. We will be using our T-36 planning checklists to see if any improvements are need. • An additional batch of around 40 old chemicals in B 70 has been collected for disposal. • Complete the quarterly SAA hazardous waste inspection of B 62 and B 70 lab areas. • Start drafting the annual revision of the ETA Integrated Safety Management (ISM) Plan. • Prepare for 4 different presentations at the upcoming Semiconductor Environmental Safety and Health Association (SESHA) symposium (virtual). • Closed out a number of open corrective actions generated from last month’s management walkthroughs.
