Significant Safety Achievements- 2/15 • Continue set-up of Work Planning and Control (WPC) projects/activities for ESDR. Several hands-on training sessions were organized to assist activity leads in learning how to use Activity Manager. • The glove box self assessment project continues. A survey was distributed to PI’s and each glove box was surveyed by the assessment team. Data has been collected and is being compiled. • The chemical container/sample clean-out of the B 62 (Kerr) lab areas is nearly completed. A CMS inventory reconciliation resulted in the elimination of 800 containers that no longer exist. • An ETA Safety Committee meeting was held 2/5/15. • Alan Biocca has agreed to serve as the ETA Electrical Safety Officer (ESO). • Participated in a DOE-BSO walkthrough of Building 70 lab areas. Efforts to eliminate old unused equipment needs to continue.
Short Term Safety Outlook- 3/15 • Continue the set-up of the Work Planning and Control (WPC) “projects” and “activities” framework for ETA. Additional “handson” training classes are planned. • Complete the Glove Box Operation Self-Assessment project report for submittal. • Conduct the annual review and update of the ETA Integrated Safety Management (ISM) Plan. • Provide follow-up for findings generated as a result of the B 70 fire incident. A final ORPS report will be generated with findings. • Continue old chemical/sample clean-outs in 62 -310, 62 -220, and 62 -246. Remaining inventory is being updated in the CMS. • Assist with the set-up for new lab areas 70 -143, B 33 JCESR, and B 60 test chambers.
