my. NOVA Account All students who apply to NOVA receive a NOVA Student ID

my. NOVA Account All students who apply to NOVA receive a NOVA Student ID (EMPLID) number and a my. NOVA account username and password. Your student account and ID number will remain the same if you come to NOVA after graduation from high school. You can use my. NOVA to do the following: ◦ View your current enrollment ◦ Send your NOVA transcripts to other colleges ◦ Use your NOVA Gmail account ◦ Use NOVA’s Blackboard if your class requires it If you don’t know your NOVA ID number or my. NOVA username, ask your instructor. How to log in to all my. NOVA applications: ◦ Go to www. nvcc. edu. ◦ Click on the “my. NOVA” yellow box in the top right corner. ◦ Click on the “my. NOVA” green box in the middle of the page. ◦ Enter your NOVA username and password to sign in. ◦ If you do not know your password, call the IT Help Desk at 703. 426. 4141. Have your 7 -digit NOVA student ID number and username ready.

Tuition & Financial Aid Tuition • Dual enrollment (DE) classes offered at your high

Tuition & Financial Aid Tuition • Dual enrollment (DE) classes offered at your high school are FREE of charge. • Classes taken online or on campus are offered at the current tuition rates. Financial Aid • Dual enrollment students are not eligible for financial aid while in high school. • NOVA DE grades are a part of your college record. Low grades and withdrawals can impact your future financial aid eligibility. Holds & Retakes Holds • When you apply to NOVA, holds are placed on

Holds & Retakes Holds • When you apply to NOVA, holds are placed on your NOVA student account to ensure that NOVA DE policies are followed. As a high school student, you cannot enroll in classes by yourself. A NOVA DE Registrar or campus counselor will enroll you in your college classes. • When you graduate, you are required to work with either a NOVA Pathway Counselor or a NOVA GPS First-Year Advisor to remove the holds and be placed in an academic program at NOVA. • You can view any holds that you have by following the directions in the link below: http: //www. nvcc. edu/novaconnect/students/tuts/viewholds. html Retaking DE Classes • If you would like to improve a grade you earned in a NOVA DE class, you may retake this class on campus. Be aware that only your last letter grade earned, not the higher of the two grades, is counted for your GPA and for curricular requirements.

Enrollment and Schedule Enrollment • To be enrolled in a NOVA DE class you must: • apply to NOVA • complete and submit an Intent to Enroll Form for each class • meet the placement testing requirements/exemptions • Verify your enrollment by logging into your my. NOVA account • Notify your teacher or high school counselor immediately if you discover you are not enrolled in the class Schedule • • High school classes meet for the entire school year NOVA DE courses are enrolled based on the NOVA semester schedule Your NOVA DE course syllabus will indicate in which NOVA semester you are enrolled Many high school classes are two different NOVA classes. For example, English 12 DE is actually ENG 111 and ENG 112.

Important Schedule Dates Each NOVA DE class has unique start, drop, withdrawal and end dates. These dates are listed in the course syllabus. Dropping a Class • You may drop a course by the drop date specified in your syllabus. Dropped courses do not appear on your college transcript. Speak with your DE instructor for additional information. • You should log into your my. NOVA account to verify that you have been dropped from the class. Withdrawing from a Class • You may withdraw from a course by the withdraw date specified in your syllabus. A withdrawal places a “W” on your college transcript but does not impact your college GPA. Speak with your DE instructor for additional information. • You should log into your my. NOVA account to verify that you have been withdrawn from the class.

Academic Information Course Prerequisites • Some courses have prerequisites or co-requisites. You may not

Academic Information Course Prerequisites • Some courses have prerequisites or co-requisites. You may not enroll in a course if you do not meet the prerequisites ex: completion of ENG 111 before enrolling in ENG 112. Academic Warning and Probation • If you are not successful in your NOVA DE class, you may be placed on Academic Warning or Probation at NOVA. Your academic status is determined by your NOVA GPA and the number of NOVA credits you have attempted. • For more information about academic standing see the following link: https: //www. nvcc. edu/curcatalog/policies/standing. html Dean’s List • If you take six or more credits in a semester and have a GPA of 3. 50 or higher, you will be honored by being placed on NOVA’s Dean’s List. Your NOVA transcript will reflect this honor. Presidential Scholars • If you take nine or more credits in a semester, have a GPA of 3. 75 or higher, and have completed at least 20 credits at NOVA, you will be recognized as a NOVA Presidential Scholar. Your NOVA transcript will reflect this honor.

College Transcripts • Your transcript shows your final NOVA grades including Ws, GPA for
