What is Dual Enrollment? • Students may take in-person or online courses at FAU

What is Dual Enrollment? • Students may take in-person or online courses at FAU (Florida Atlantic University) or PBSC (Palm Beach State College) • Courses count for high school credit AND college credit • Grades are recorded on high school transcripts AND college transcripts • The school district pays tuition and book fees!

Dual Enrollment Requirements: PBSC • 3. 0 GPA (unweighted) • College ready test scores

Dual Enrollment Requirements: PBSC • 3. 0 GPA (unweighted) • College ready test scores (different tests may be combined): o PSAT: 24 Reading, 25 Writing, 24 Math OR EBRW 430, Math 480 o ACT: 19 Reading, 17 English, 19 Math o PERT: 106 Reading, 103 Writing, 114 Math o Accuplacer: 83 Reading, 83 Writing, 72 Math • Student and parent must sign and abide by the dual enrollment agreement (ACHS Dual Enrollment) • Students must attend a virtual information/advising session and sign the PBSC agreement (first time DE students only)

Dual Enrollment Requirements: FAU • 3. 0 GPA (unweighted) • College ready test scores (must pass all sections of 1 test but may be on different test dates): o SAT: 24 Reading, 25 Writing, 24 Math o ACT: 19 Reading, 17 English, 19 Math o PERT: 106 Reading, 103 Writing, 114 Math o Next Gen Accuplacer: 245 Reading, 245 Writing, 242 Math • Student and parent must sign and abide by the dual enrollment agreement (ACHS Dual Enrollment)

Dual Enrollment (DE) Agreement • DE grades are a permanent part of the high

Dual Enrollment (DE) Agreement • DE grades are a permanent part of the high school AND college transcripts • Students may take a maximum of 8 credits (2 courses) per semester • Students who earn a D, F, or W (withdraw) are no longer eligible for DE • Attendance is mandatory and students can be withdrawn for non-attendance • Students are responsible for their own transportation

Dual Enrollment (DE) Agreement • Students will receive a book voucher and MUST return books at the end of the semester to avoid being placed on obligation • DE students MUST follow the college’s rules, regulations, codes of conduct, and academic expectations • Students are responsible for communicating with their college professor re: grades • There is NO SIS Gateway in college and parents do not have access to grades, assignments, conferences, etc.

Steps to Dual Enrollment: PBSC • Follow the DE checklist (ACHS Dual Enrollment) • If you do not have PSAT/ACT scores, register for a remote PERT test (it’s free the first time at PBSC) • Apply for admission: www. palmbeachstate. edu • Complete the online dual enrollment orientation and sign the PBSC agreement • View the online course catalog and schedule and select your course(s) plus alternates; be aware of DAYS and TIMES offered to avoid conflict with your Atlantic schedule • Email your counselor with your signed Atlantic DE agreement, test scores (no need to send if it’s on SIS), and list of chosen courses plus alternates

Steps to Dual Enrollment: PBSC • Your counselor will send you a DE authorization form, proof of your GPA, and test scores if on SIS • Submit your PBSC agreement, DE authorization form, test scores, and proof of your GPA to PBSC via your Panther. Web account • Register for your course(s) on your Panther. Web account after you receive a confirmation email from PBSC • Email your counselor your book request form and a screenshot of your PBSC schedule to receive your book(s) by mail OR take your book request form and a printed copy of your PBSC schedule to Book. Smart • After your course ends, RETURN your book(s) to Book. Smart and email a picture of your receipt to your counselor or Mrs. Andreula

PBSC Dual Enrollment at Atlantic High • This school year we started offering 2 courses for DE at Atlantic Ø MAC 1005: College Algebra w/ Mr. Jean-Baptiste Ø HSC 2100: Health Concepts and Strategies w/ Ms. Taback • Both courses are offered 4 th period • If you have room in your schedule, you can consider adding 1 of the courses in the spring • The same DE eligibility requirements, expectations, and enrollment process applies to these courses • If you are interested please reach out to your counselor
