Dual Enrollment Chandler-Gilbert Community College provides ambitious students the ability to earn college credits

Dual Enrollment Chandler-Gilbert Community College provides ambitious students the ability to earn college credits while still in high school. Dual enrollment classes are taught by Casteel High School teachers who are adjunct faculty for CGCC. Credits earned from dual enrollment classes will become part of a student’s high school AND college transcript. Casteel High School also has a partnership with Arizona State University for two dual enrollment courses.

Pre-Requisites for Dual Enrollment Students must meet the prerequisite criteria for their specific Dual Enrollment course or have a qualifying placement score by taking an appropriate placement test. Prerequisites differ by course and may include one of the following: • • • Junior/Senior Cumulative Unweighted GPA ≥ 2. 6 Az. Merit Scores in ELA or Math of Proficient or Higher PSAT Scores ≥ 720 or SAT Scores ≥ 720 C or better in a previous course Appropriate score on Accuplacer Exam

Registration for Dual Enrollment • Registration is open now. The deadline to register is September 6, 2019 (January 31 st for Spring courses). • Students need to create a student account for CGCC. They must formally apply to Chandler-Gilbert Community College. • In order to complete the application process, students will need a state or government-issued picture id (i. e. Drivers License or Passport). If your student does not have a government id, CGCC will accept a current school id. • Students and parents will need to fill out the “Under-18 Financial E-Form” for CGCC.

Dual Enrollment Costs • The cost is $85 per credit plus a $15 non-refundable registration fee per semester. • Payments can be made either on-line at my. maricopa. edu, in person at either campus of CGCC (Pecos or Williams), or over the phone at (480) 732 -7312. • The deadline to pay for fall and year-long classes is Monday, September 16, 2019. The deadline to pay for spring classes in Monday, February 10, 2020. • Unpaid tuition will result in students being dropped from CGCC classes without notice (students can remain in HS class but will lose the opportunity for dual credit).
