Initial Approval Customer Requirements • A minimum of a set of drawings (either Architectural, or shop drawings) must be submitted. – Must include roof plan – Must include roof slopes – Must include substrate • Must also submit specifications. – Where project does not have specifications, written direction on which warranty is required must be submitted.

Elroy Response • If the project is approved, the Warranty Department will issue a Weathertightness approval form, along with a sample copy of the warranty type that was approved. • The front page has the date preapproved, job number, and the location. • The letter asking the customer to verify that the warranty quoted is what is needed.

Types of Warranties Basic Definitions • Joint – A joint warranty is a warranty in which the contractor is held responsible for the first two years of leak free service. • The term can be longer than two years if the specification requires it or if Mc. Elroy Metal requires it under special circumstances dictated by the contractor or a leak occurs within the two years. – The remaining term of the warranty Mc. Elroy is held responsible. • Single Source – A single source warranty is a warranty in which Mc. Elroy is held responsible for the entire term of the warranty. – Single Source warranties require the contractor to sign an agreement with Mc. Elroy Metal

Elroy’s Training Class. – Customer must complete and submit items from the Qualification Checklist. – Must be approved by Credit Department. – Must have Sales Managers approval. – Must have sent in a Single Source Application. Final Approval • Signed copy of warranty approval form must be submitted to Warranty Department prior to shop drawing review or approval. • Installer must submit copies of installation drawings unless Mc. Elroy Metal’s Technical Service Department is producing them. – Drawings should include a roof plan with all slopes given and details of every condition, i. e. eave, rake, ridge, valley, etc… • Drawings must be stamped either “approved” or “approved as noted” and in the installer’s hands prior to ordering material. • Installer must be approved for the required warranty.

Inspections • It is the installers responsibility to inform the Warranty Department when inspections

Inspections • It is the installers responsibility to inform the Warranty Department when inspections are required. – Notification must be made at least three weeks prior to needing the inspection. – Even then we may have times that this cannot be accommodated. The warranty department will do what they can, but due to the amount of warranties in progress, it is difficult at best to keep up with every one. • After the inspection, a written report will be issued to the installer indicating any corrections that need to be made in order to issue a warranty. – This report requires that all corrections be made within 60 days. Failure to do so may result in a warranty not being issued.

Issuance of Warranties • Once the repairs are made, a “Letter of Repair” must be sent in stating that all repairs were made in accordance with the report or the installer can sign and return the inspection report acknowledging that all repairs have been made. • The Warranty Department will email a warranty information form to the customer to be filled out and returned. • The Warranty Department will insure that all invoices have been paid by this customer. • Once these items have been satisfied, the warranties will be emailed to the customer along with an invoice for the warranty. • .

The owner must electronically sign Single Source warranties • Once the warranties are signed by the owner and/or the installer they need to be returned by email back to the Warranty Department. • After it is verified that the warranty invoice is paid in full, Tommy Johnson will sign the warranty. • Final executed Weathertightness Warranty will be sent via email to Mc. Elroy’s customer for distribution.

Elroy Metal has produced a brochure to help you with Weathertightness Warranties. • All warranties must be approved through the Warranty Department. • Any changes to the warranties must be approved through the warranty department. • Warranty Department must do all inspections or contract with a third party firm to do inspections. • For a customer to qualify for a Single Source or No Repair Limit Warranty, they must be a certified Mc. Elroy installer and must have on record three previously inspected and approved weathertightness warranties.

Good to Know • If going over a solid deck and using architectural details, high temp peel and stick underlayment must be utilized for the first three feet from the eave and three feet each side of valleys. • If going over open framing, sealed eaves and valleys are mandatory. • Penetrations are not included in the warranty unless they are requested in the submitted specs and are approved by the warranty department, even if there are penetrations shown on the drawings. • When penetrations are included, all curbs, crickets and diverters, must be manufactured from minimum 0. 063 welded aluminum or 18 gauge welded Stainless Steel. • All pipe penetrations must be centered in the pan of the panel and must be made from a 20 year warrantable EPDM long life material. A Pipe cannot penetrate the seam unless special pipe detail is used. • All exposed fasteners must be long life fasteners.
