O God, your Word is a lantern to our feet, All and a light to our path.

PSALM (Good News Version) Psalm 15

1 LORD, who may enter your Temple? Who may worship on Zion, your sacred hill? 2 Those who obey God in everything and always do what is right.

Those words are true and sincere, 3 and who do not slander others. They do no wrong to their friends nor spread rumours about their neighbours.

4 They despise those whom God rejects, but honour those who obey the LORD. They always do what they promise, no matter how much it may cost.

5 They make loans without charging interest and cannot be bribed to testify against the innocent. Whoever does these things will always be secure.

Glory to the Father, by the Son, in the Holy Spirit, as it was in the beginning, is now, and shall be for ever. Amen. Or: Glory to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit, as it was in the beginning, is now, and shall be for ever. Amen.

Lord, lead us to our heavenly home by single steps of self-restraint and deeds of righteousness; through the grace of Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

All Father God, you spoke your word to make the world; you spoke your word to your prophets to guide us; you spoke your word in scripture, to tell the story of your love; and you gave us your living word, Jesus Christ. Bless us in our hearing and reading your Word; bless us in our telling and sharing your Word. We pray you in Jesus’ name. Amen.
