The Lord gives wisdom, All from his mouth comes knowledge and understanding.

Whoever believes in Christ, as Scriptures say, All ‘Rivers of living water will flow from within them.

If we remain in Christ and his words remain in us: All we can ask whatever we wish and it will be done for us.

Blessed be God, Father, Son and Holy Spirit: All Blessed be God for ever!

That this evening may be holy, good and peaceful, let us pray with one heart and mind.

All As our evening prayer rises before you, O God, so may your mercy come down upon us, to cleanse our hearts and set us free to sing your praise, now and for ever. Amen.

PSALM (Good News Version) Psalm 49 part 2

13 See what happens to those who trust in themselves, the fate of those who are satisfied with their wealth—

14 they are doomed to die like sheep, and Death will be their shepherd.

The righteous will triumph over them, as their bodies quickly decay in the world of the dead far from their homes. 15 But God will rescue me; he will save me from the power of death.

16 Don't be upset when someone becomes rich, when his wealth grows even greater; 17 he cannot take it with him when he dies; his wealth will not go with him to the grave.

18 Even if someone is satisfied with this life and is praised because he is successful, 19 he will join all his ancestors in death, where the darkness lasts forever.

20 Our greatness cannot keep us from death; we will still die like the animals.

Glory to the Father, by the Son, in the Holy Spirit, as it was in the beginning, is now, and shall be for ever. Amen. Or: Glory to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit, as it was in the beginning, is now, and shall be for ever. Amen.

Save us from envy God our Saviour, and deliver us from the chains of wealth, that, ransomed through your Son, we may inherit the crown of everlasting life; through Jesus Christ, our Lord. Amen.

How can someone stay on the path of salvation? All By living according to your Word. Every word of God is without any flaw: All he is a shield to those who take refuge in him. All God our Father, you have given us the Holy Scriptures to instruct us in the wisdom that leads to salvation through faith in Jesus Christ. Now that we have been born again not with a perishable seed, but through your living and enduring Word, may it dwell richly in us every day of our life. Amen.
