Lord our God, reveal among us the light of your presence, All that we may see your power and glory.

O Morning Star, All splendour of light eternal and sun of righteousness;

Come and enlightened those who dwell in darkness, All and the shadow of death.

Blessed are you, Sovereign Lord, merciful and gentle: All to you be praise and glory for ever.

Your light has shone in our darkened world, All through the child bearing of blessed Mary.

May we, who have seen your glory, be daily renewed in your image, All and be prepared like her for the coming of your Son, the Lord and Saviour of all.

The night has passed, and the day lies open before us; let us pray with one heart and mind.

All As we rejoice in the gift of this new day, so may the light of your presence, O God, set our hearts on fire with love for you; now and for ever. Amen.

PSALM Psalm 25 part 1 (Good News Version)

To you, O LORD, I offer my prayer; 2 in you, my God, I trust. Save me from the shame of defeat; don't let my enemies gloat over me!

3 Defeat does not come to those who trust in you, but to those who are quick to rebel against you.

4 Teach me your ways, O LORD; make them known to me. 5 Teach me to live according to your truth, for you are my God, who saves me. I always trust in you.

6 Remember, O LORD, your kindness and constant love which you have shown from long ago. 7 Forgive the sins and errors of my youth. In your constant love and goodness, remember me, LORD!

8 Because the LORD is righteous and good, he teaches sinners the path they should follow. 9 He leads the humble in the right way and teaches them his will.

10 With faithfulness and love he leads all who keep his covenant and obey his commands.

Free us, God of mercy, from all that keeps us from you; relieve the misery of the anxious and the ashamed and fill us with the hope of peace; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

That with all the faithful departed, we may receive a share in Christ’s victory over evil and death.

All Eternal God, as Mary waited for the birth of your Son, so we wait for his coming in glory; bring us through the birth pangs of this present age to see, with her, our great salvation in Jesus Christ, our Lord. Amen.

THE LORD’S PRAYER Awaiting his coming in glory, as our Saviour taught us, so we pray with confidence:
