May : the month devoted to Our Lady We listen Our special intention this week focusses upon our Sixth Form Art students who commence their A Level Art exams. We also remember our Year 8 students who will leave us for their retreat to Alton Castle. In the gospel reading on Sunday we were told of one of the many apparitions of Jesus to the disciples following his death and resurrection. On this occasion Jesus appeared to all the disciples and asked them to throw their nets over the side of their boat. They did so and caught more fish than ever before. This was Jesus’ way of explaining their future mission or work – gathering followers in the net of faith. He also spent time with Peter and asked him three times of he loved him. On each occasion Peter responded that he did. Jesus asked that he do likewise with those that they would gather as followers. Mission Monday? How are we most like the disciples? How do we gather followers? How do we influence others positively? How do we encourage others to make good choices? How are we most like Jesus? Do we hold grudges or do we accept that others make mistakes and allow them to change – just As Jesus did with Peter? How are we most like Peter? How do we accept change? Do we rise to the challenges placed before us positively just as Peter did?
