(Time of quiet to be in presence of the Lord)

Our help is from the Lord, All who made heaven and earth.

SONG/HYMN Modern Song: ‘Beautiful’ Trad. Hymn: ‘God of the sparrow, God of the whale’

In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth, All and he created all things through Christ.

God in Christ has revealed his glory, All the whole world tells the greatness of his Name.

From the rising of the sun to its setting: All the Lord’s name is greatly to be praised.

Blessed be God, Father, Son and Holy Spirit: All Blessed be God for ever!

The night has passed, and the day lies open before us; let us pray with one heart and mind.

All As we rejoice in the gift of this new day, so may the light of your presence, O God, set our hearts on fire with love for you; now and for ever. Amen.

THE WORD OF GOD A light on our path

PSALM (Good News Version) Psalm 93

The LORD is king. He is clothed with majesty and strength. The earth is set firmly in place and cannot be moved.

2 Your throne, O LORD, has been firm from the beginning, and you existed before time began.

3 The ocean depths raise their voice, O LORD; they raise their voice and roar. 4 The LORD rules supreme in heaven, greater than the roar of the ocean, more powerful than the waves of the sea.

5 Your laws are eternal, LORD, and your Temple is holy indeed, forever and ever.

Glory to the Father, by the Son, in the Holy Spirit, as it was in the beginning, is now, and shall be for ever. Amen. Or: Glory to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit, as it was in the beginning, is now, and shall be for ever. Amen.

Christ our King, you put on the apparel of our nature and raised us to your glory; reign from your royal throne above the chaos of this world, that all may see the victory you have won and trust in your salvation; for your glory’s sake. Amen.

The Spirit of God has made me. The breath of the Mighty One gives me life. (Job 33. 4; NIr. V)

By the Word of the Lord, the heavens were made: All and all their host by the breath of his mouth. The world belongs to the Lord: All and so does everything in it. Glory to the Father, by the Son, in the Holy Spirit: All By the Word of the Lord, the heavens were made, and all their host by the breath of his mouth.

PRAYERS FOR THE WORLD (Present to the Lord all your prayers, for yourself, your loved ones, and the whole world)

For those who barely survive day after day, because of poverty, and cry for justice in the world

(We offer ourselves to the Lord)

All God, the giver of life, whose Holy Spirit wells up within your Church: by the Spirit’s gifts equip us to live the gospel of Christ and make us eager to do your will, that we may share with the whole creation the joys of eternal life; through Jesus Christ your Son our Lord. Amen.

THE LORD’S PRAYER As our Saviour taught us, so we pray with confidence:

(Modern Version) (Traditional Version) Our Father in heaven, Hallowed be your name; Your kingdom come; Your will be done; on earth as in heaven. Give us today our daily bread. Forgive us our sins, as we forgive those who sin against us. And lead us not into temptation; but deliver us from evil. For the kingdom, the power and the glory are yours, now and for ever. Amen. Our Father who art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name; Thy kingdom come; Thy will be done; on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. Forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation; but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, the power and the glory for ever and ever. Amen.

SONG/HYMN Modern Song: ‘The wonders of his hands’ Traditional Hymn: ‘Come, ye thankful people, come’

SENDING OUT The Lord bless us, and preserve us from all evil: All and keep us in eternal life.

Let us bless the Lord. All Thanks be to God.
