Why Teach Personal Financial Literacy? “Financial literacy is essential…to the economic health of our nation…Ensuring that young people have the skills they need to make wise financial choices… will help us build a stronger…future…We also know that a lack of financial literacy is a major roadblock on the path of college access and success for too many students. ” (Treasury Secretary Tim Geithner, September 2010. ) What does this mean for your students?
