The Psalm can be read by two people or two groups of people if you want. You may start by lighting a candle.
We stand before throne of God, with countless crowds, All from every nation and race, tribe and language.
(Time of quiet to be in presence of the Lord)
O Lord, open our lips, All and our mouth shall proclaim your praise.
Your faithful servants bless you, All they make known the glory of your kingdom.
SONG ‘Golden streets’
The people dwelling in darkness have seen a great light: All on those dwelling in the shadow of death, a light has dawned.
God has swallowed up on this mountain the veil spread over all nations: All He has swallowed up death for ever.
O death, where is your victory? All O death, where is your sting?
Blessed be God, Father, Son and Holy Spirit: All Blessed be God for ever!
The night has passed, and the day lies open before us; let us pray with one heart and mind.
All As we rejoice in the gift of this new day, so may the light of your presence, O God, set our hearts on fire with love for you; now and for ever. Amen.
THE WORD OF GOD The book of the promises
PSALM (Good News Version) Psalm 62
I wait patiently for God to save me; I depend on him alone. 2 He alone protects and saves me; he is my defender, and I shall never be defeated.
4 You only want to bring him down from his place of honor; you take pleasure in lies. You speak words of blessing, but in your heart you curse him. 5 I depend on God alone; I put my hope in him.
6 He alone protects and saves me; he is my defender, and I shall never be defeated. 7 My salvation and honour depend on God; he is my strong protector; he is my shelter.
8 Trust in God at all times, my people. Tell him all your troubles, for he is our refuge.
9 Human beings are all like a puff of breath; great and small alike are worthless.
Put them on the scales, and they weigh nothing; they are lighter than a mere breath.
10 Don't put your trust in violence; don't hope to gain anything by robbery; even if your riches increase, don't depend on them.
11 More than once I have heard God say that power belongs to him 12 and that his love is constant. You yourself, O Lord, reward everyone according to their deeds.
Glory to the Father, by the Son, in the Holy Spirit, as it was in the beginning, is now, and shall be for ever. Amen. Or: Glory to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit, as it was in the beginning, is now, and shall be for ever. Amen.
O God, teach us to seek security, not in money or theft, not in human ambition or malice, not in our own ability or power, but in you, the only God, our rock and our salvation. Amen.

6 So here is what we can always be certain about. As long as we are at home in our bodies, we are away from the Lord. 7 We live by believing, not by seeing. 8 We are certain about that. We would rather be away from our bodies and at home with the Lord. 9 So we try our best to please him. We want to please him whether we are at home in our bodies or away from them. 10 We must all stand in front of Christ to be judged. Each one of us will be judged for what we do while in our bodies. We’ll be judged for the good things and the bad things. Then each of us will receive what we are supposed to get. (2 Corinthians 5. 6 -10; NIr. V)
I have no pleasure in the death of anyone, declares the Lord God, All then convert and live. Truly, I say to you, today you will be with me in Paradise, All Truly, I say to you: whoever believes has eternal life. Glory to the Father, by the Son, in the Holy Spirit: All I have no pleasure in the death of anyone, declares the Lord God, then convert and live.
PRAYERS FOR THE WORLD -For our family, friends and all whom we love -For the day and its tasks
For all those in need, distress or sorrow and those who bring light in their darkness, that they may discover and be witnesses of your love.
(We offer ourselves to the Lord)
All Almighty God, who raised Jesus from the dead and exalted him to your right hand on high: may we know his resurrection power in our daily lives and look with hope to that day when we shall see you face to face and share in your glory, through Christ, our Lord. Amen.
THE LORD’S PRAYER As our Saviour taught us, so we pray with confidence:
(Modern Version) (Traditional Version) Our Father in heaven, Hallowed be your name; Your kingdom come; Your will be done; on earth as in heaven. Give us today our daily bread. Forgive us our sins, as we forgive those who sin against us. And lead us not into temptation; but deliver us from evil. For the kingdom, the power and the glory are yours, now and for ever. Amen. Our Father who art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name; Thy kingdom come; Thy will be done; on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. Forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation; but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, the power and the glory for ever and ever. Amen.
SONG ‘The power of your love’
SENDING OUT May Christ, who has opened the kingdom of heaven: All bring us to reign with him in glory. Amen.
Let us bless the Lord. All Thanks be to God.
