Instruction • Purchase and/or develop evidence-based, standards-based curriculum and instructional materials that focus on career technical pathway courses through a collaborative effort with secondary, postsecondary, and industry. This could include the development of updated or new career technical pathway courses, articulated and dual credit courses, curriculum to support leadership and work-based learning, and/or the development of curriculum and activities that lead to industryrecognized certifications or credentials = • Transportation and other expenses that enable leadership and workbased learning activities, including after-school, extended day, and out-of -school opportunities • Food and refreshments for conference travel, student field trips and special events, and working Advisory Committee and partnership meetings • Non-Allowable for CTSO’s: travel outside of the United States

Instruction • Lead to completion of industry-valued certificates, degrees, or transfers to four-year university or college. • Prepare students upon completion of education to enter into employment in occupations for which there is documented demand which pay a livable wage. • Contribute toward meeting the projected need for one million completers of CTE programs aligned with the state’s labor markets. • K-12 SWP funding is $164 million, of which $150 million is available to eligible recipients. The remaining $14 million is for K-14 Technical Assistance Providers in support of both CTEIG and K-12 SWP initiatives.

CTE Facilities Program Proposition 51 includes $500 million to construct/modernize CTE facilities as well as purchase equipment on comprehensive high school sites. Joint Powers Authorities currently operating CTE programs may qualify for modernization funds. TOM TORLAKSON TONY THURMOND State. Superintendentof State of. Public. Instruction On June 26, 2019, the State Allocation Board approved $250 million for the next Career Technical Education Facilities Program (CTEFP) funding cycle. The application period will close December 2, 2019. This is a competitive grant process and applications must score at least 105 points for consideration of funding.

Perkins funds must be used to expand, grow, and improve CTE courses, not simply maintain. Supplement, Not Supplant!
