COE Mission Statement The mission of the College of Engineering is to meet the needs of industry and society by • Producing highly competent graduates at the baccalaureate, masters, and doctoral levels, • Performing state-of-the-art research in the disciplines comprising the diverse fields of engineering, and • Providing service to the community and engineering profession through outreach programs, involvement in professional societies, consulting, and interaction with industry and government.
UT Arlington Engineering History • 1930’s - Began with two-year industrial technology programs • 1940’s - Conducted pilot training programs during WWII • Expanded to support local aircraft industry • 1959 - Obtained status as four-year institution • 1961 - First engineering baccalaureate class • Mid-to-Late 1960’s - Master’s & Ph. D. programs started • 1987 - Automation & Robotics Research Institute created • 2001 - Nanotechnology Research and Teaching Facility dedicated • 2007 - 20, 000 th graduate of the College of Engineering
