One day they will do their learning Students will participate in on campus and the next day their learning at home daily. virtual learning will be at home with the use of technology.

Pick-up and Drop-off Procedures 6 th grade drop off and pick up in WEST parking Lot (if parent has children in different grades please drop of all students here) 7 th & 8 th grade drop off and pick up in EAST parking Lot (UTPB side) MAPLE is the BUS ZONE no pick up or drop off Morning Athletics/band/orchestra/choir drop off in WEST PARKING LOT if before 8: 00 am. Students must enter the school and go directly to their first class…there will be no points of large group gatherings. AFTER SCHOOL – Parents are encouraged to utilize the car lanes to avoid any large group gathering points for students and adults. All staff and students will be required to wear a face covering.

Nurse • Full time Nurse – Crissy Preslar, RN • Medications: All medications must be kept in the nurse’s office. Students can selfcarry inhalers and epi pens, with the proper forms completed. Forms will need to be completed by a parent and physician, for them to be administered by staff. Physician orders will need to be provided for procedures to be performed. Meds must be brought in by a parent and a month supply can be taken. Forms for parents and physicians can be found here: https: //sites. google. com/ecisd. school/crissypreslar/home • Vaccines: All 7 th grade students will be required to have the Tdap and MCV 4 vaccine. I offer a vaccine clinic on campus and will have a limited supply of vaccine to administer within the first month of returning. Call 456 -5382 to setup appointments. Vaccines need to be completed by September 30 th. Please provide a shot record, if your student is already vaccinated. • COVID-19: Students showing signs and symptoms of COVID will be assessed by the nurse, and will be sent home if meets screening protocol. The parent will have 30 minutes to pick-up the student. If unable to arrive in 30 min, the parent must designate someone who can arrive in the 30 minute time frame. This is to limit exposure of all students and staff. If your student is displaying any signs and symptoms of COVID, please do not send them to campus. • Dr. Notes: If your student has restrictions per a Dr. , please provide a Dr. note to the nurse. A copy of the note will be sent to the coach and kept with the student. The student will have a sticker placed on their ID to notify staff they have a medical condition. An email will be sent to the student’s teachers if special accommodations are needed (Example: Leave class 5 min early, ect. )

When dismissed, students will exit nearest door. Please expect delays in afternoon dismissal as safety is our top priority. 7 th & 8 th Grade students will be picked up in the east parking lot. 6 th grade students will be picked up in the west parking lot. Due to heavy traffic, students are not allowed to walk in front of the building on Maple Street or cut across Maple for pick up or drop off.

Fine Arts – Middle School • We are committed to the safety and wellness

Fine Arts – Middle School • We are committed to the safety and wellness of all our students above all other considerations. Directors are charged to consider these aspects first when making decisions and closely monitor the health and wellness of their students. • Our Fine Arts programs will strictly follow the guidelines established by TEA and UIL. • Students on campus will attend daily Fine Arts periods using existing facilities. Those who choose full-time Remote Learning may attend if their schedule and space permits. • Students choosing Remote Learning on a full-time basis may attend before or after school practice. • All Fine Arts programs are permitted to practice before or after school. • Concert, Events, and Travel are permitted following the guidelines from TEA and UIL. However, the district maintains no expectations for public performance, competition, or travel for the 2020 -2021 school year. Fine Arts teachers, with oversight from their campus administration and the Director of Fine Arts, are in the best position to evaluate and make decisions for their programs.

Student & Family Support The ECISD website will be a one stop shop for assistance for family, student and staff social, emotional needs. The site will contain one pagers and short videos from the Guidance & Counseling Department, Nursing Services and the Community Outreach Center and others. Information will be in one area and will be communicated out via all available outreach forms including social media and district communication tools. The ECISD Family Support Line (456 -HELP) will be available as needed to help with social and emotional needs. The Texas truancy laws continue to be in effect requiring compulsory school attendance. Truancy Prevention Measures will be implemented by all campuses. Truancy laws will apply to students who fail to attend school, but remote attendance satisfies attendance requirements. Campuses will provide documented (Eduphoria) systematic interventions and contacts for those students with excessive absences. Students will be required by state law to attend school at least 90% of the days offered in order to receive credit. Counseling will be provided face-to-face, by phone and virtually. Social-Emotional support and activities will be provided to Pk-12 grade .

Volunteer applications and training will be online. • The need for volunteers will be determined by each campus and department and will be reviewed by the Development Office. • Visitors to buildings will be limited. All visitors will be screened according to current guidelines.
