Levels HON Honors -Requires a strong command of basic skills and is extremely rigorous.

Levels HON Honors -Requires a strong command of basic skills and is extremely rigorous. This is equivalent to the demands of a college level course. ACC Accelerated-Requires a good command of basic skills and the ability to perform in a rigorous program at a rapid pace. This is a college prep course. Coll Prep College Prep-Requires a command of basic skills and is moderately paced. This is a college prep course. MOD Modified-Reinforces and builds upon basic skills. Courses 1. English 1 Ø Choose a level 2. Math Ø All students must take Algebra 1 or Geometry. Ø Algebra 1 is a prerequisite for Geometry. Students cannot double up in Algebra 1 & Geometry UNLESS they took Algebra 1 in 8 th grade. Ø Students are able to double up in Geometry & Algebra 2 (code 321 -honors or 328 -accelerated) but only if they completed Algebra 1 in 8 th grade. Ø Option at end of 8 th grade to take high school credit for Algebra 1. Ø If a student signs up for Algebra 1 College Prep, he/she will be placed in Algebra Support class in addition to Algebra 1 class. This is a Pass/Fail class and does not count as required math course. Ø Computer Programming-Does not count as required math course; must be enrolled in Geometry at the same time. 4

Parents will need to fill out required registration information & select courses. • Online portal will open on 1/23 and will close on 2/14. • Course selections must be made by 2/14. Course Changes • July 30 th is the last day to request changes in your schedule. This must be done by a parent (in writing/email or by phone). • Once school starts ONLY errors will be corrected for the first few weeks. • There are timelines to change classes. • Only 1 study hall per year is allowed. • If you drop a course in the fall, WP (Withdraw Passing) or WF 10 (Withdraw Failing) will appear on transcript.
