WELCOME BACK TO SCHOOL WE HAVE MISSED YOU
WELCOME BACK TO SCHOOL! WE HAVE MISSED YOU!
So that we can all keep safe, the government has asked us to make some changes in school. The way that all schools run will be very different for the time being. You will have noticed some changes already…
When you arrive at school, after breaks and lunch, when you have been to the toilet and throughout the day, you will wash your hands well, or use hand sanitiser.
HOW TO WASH YOUR HANDS WET HANDS THOROUGHLY RINSE UNDER WATER APPLY SOAP DRY THOROUGHLY WITH A PAPER TOWEL SCRUB FOR 20 SECONDS, SING HAPPY BIRTHDAY TWICE! HAPPY CLEAN HANDS!
Make sure that if you cough or sneeze, you use a tissue. The adults in your room will put a packet of tissues on your desk so you always have one nearby. We have new bins with lids to put your used tissue in.
Try really hard not to touch your mouth, nose or your eyes with your hands.
From now on, you will be taught in a “Year group bubble”. You will be able to learn and play with children and adults in your Year Group only, all day, every day. None of you can mix with children from another “bubble” at any time during the day.
In class, you are seated all facing the front of the classroom for your safety. It is important that you do not get up and wander around the room at any time. The equipment that you need is on your desk, you must not touch any one else’s equipment.
If you need something, put your hand up. Adults in the room are here to help you, but they cannot come too close, so you will have to be as independent as you can.
We will keep all doors and windows open as much as possible so that lots of fresh air can circulate around your bubble.
You will be able to go to the toilets that your class bubble have been allocated. Only one or two children can use the toilets and sinks at a time. Make sure that you close the toilet lid before you flush the toilet.
When we are walking along the corridors we need to remember to walk 2 metres apart.
The “bubbles” will have breaks and lunches at different times and in different areas. There may be other “bubbles” outside at the same time as you so it is important that you STAY in your area.
It is also really important that you SOCIALLY DISTANCE at break and lunch times, even with the children in your “bubble”. Try really hard not to get too close to anyone.
You are still not allowed to use the wooden adventure trail but you can use the Outdoor Gym equipment if your teacher tells you it has been cleaned. We cannot let you use any play equipment that other children might touch. We will give your own skipping rope but you MUST NOT SHARE THIS.
At lunchtime, Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 will eat in the hall. Years 3 -6 will eat in your classrooms. Sit at your own table. Our lovely cooks will prepare your delicious lunch!
You will have 30 minutes at lunchtime to play outside and 30 minutes to eat your lunch inside. To start with, you will have 2 other breaks every day, 1 in the morning and 1 in the afternoon. We have arranged for all children in school to be given a fruit snack for morning or afternoon break.
Fire evacuation procedures We will have a practice during the first week, because you will all be in new areas of the school with different adults.
If you feel unwell, tell an adult! If you are too poorly to be in school, we will call your parents/carers and they will come to school to collect you.
