It is the best selling adult novel of all time!

Dan Brown, the author of The Da Vinci Code, was asked by Matt Lauer of The Today Show, if his novel was based on things that actually occurred…

Brown Responded… “Absolutely All Of It! Obviously the character Richard Langdon is fictional, but all of the art, architecture, secret rituals and secret societies; all of that is historical fact!”

Best selling author and researcher James Garlow says: “Is Dan Brown so unskilled to do such shoddy work and not realize it? ”

This book is completely riddled with grossly erroneous information and fantasy

Why then call it historically accurate?

TWO REASONS 1. He wrote The Da Vinci Code with an agenda to convince his readers of something, whether it is true or not 2. He truly believes what he wrote and he also has the aforementioned agenda

If Brown has an agenda, what is it?

To make every effort to destroy the credibility of Orthodox Christianity by refuting two themes:

1. The Authenticity, Historical Accuracy and Reliability of the Bible 2. To deny the Full Divinity of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ

So what’s the big deal with this book and this movie?

Here are just a FEW of the many errors represented as fact in Dan Brown’s The Da Vinci Code

The leaders of the Church recognized these to be tales hatched in fertile imaginations

History shows that legends always develop around famous figures, and we should not be surprised that some people would attach superstitions to Jesus.

These books were never seriously considered as part of the Canonical Scripture!

What is Gnosticism?

The word GNOSTIC comes from the Greek GNOSIS, which means “knowledge. ” More precisely, the word is used to refer to hidden knowledge that is available only to the “enlightened. ”

The Gnostics say our real need is not forgiveness, but self enlightenment. The Gnostics taught that Jesus can help us, but He is not necessary to our quest for Salvation.

Gnostics either denied the historicity of the New Testament Gospels or consider them unimportant!

In order to get the flavor of some of these books, consider these so-called sayings of Jesus found in the most famous of the Gnostic gospels…
