• 24 credits (4 English, 4 Math, 3 Science, 3 Social Studies, 1 HOPE, 1 Art, and electives) Graduation Requirements (Traditional) • Maintain a minimum 2. 0 Grade Point Average (this is a “C” average of all of your semester and year-long courses, not the 9 -week GPA) • Pass the 10 th Grade FSA and Algebra 1 End of Course (EOC) Exam • Pass one online course • These are the absolute minimum standards to receive our diploma. How Do You Earn Credits? • Credits are earned each semester – in December and May • A semester grade is two quarters and the exam combined (half of the year) • Student who fails either quarter and the semester exam can receive a semester grade of “F” (teacher discretion model) • Student who fails both quarters but passes the semester exam can receive a semester grade of “F” (teacher discretion model)

School Lunch Applications • Parents, please be advised Free lunch is not automatic. A new application for 20 -21 must be completed and approved by the first day of school. • As a part of the Lakewood High School Safety Plan, we have adopted a Modified Dress Code. The Modified Dress Code is in effect for the entire school year. • Headphones are not allowed to be in use at any time. Ear buds may be used at lunch and during passing periods. Rules and Guidelines • Pinellas County Policy prohibits students from bringing cell phones to school. If you choose to bring a cell phone, you assume all liability for its use, theft, or destruction. Students and parents are encouraged to download phone retrieval apps (Android Lost/Find my i. Phone), if they choose to bring a phone. A summary of salient points. For an exhaustive list, see the student code of conduct. • Students who are absent must send in a note from a doctor within 48 hours of the absence in order to have it excused. Parents may self-report for the first 5 absences. Beyond this, a note is required to excuse the absences. • This list is not exhaustive. Your student will receive a Code of Student Conduct. Masks It is mandatory that students wear masks daily in the classrooms, hallways and the cafeteria (except while eating). Shirts • • • T-shirts with Lakewood Logo or CAT logo only; Oxford or Polo, solid colors only – NO RED; Logo size no larger than a quarter; Long-sleeved or short-sleeved collared shirts, button-up styles, solid colors only – NO RED, Shirts must be buttoned (closed below the neck); Wednesday – AVID Shirts can be worn by students in the AVID program; All other students are expected to be in Lakewood attire; Friday – College T-Shirt/Sweatshirt Day – ONLY College (no sports) Logos will be allowed; If not participating students are expected to be in Lakewood attire; Prohibited: Sheer or mesh fabrics, tank tops, logos, graphics or text that are not official Lakewood High School imagery.

Bottoms • Jeans (pants or shorts) – blue denim color only; • Khaki pants (pants or shorts), solid color (tan, beige, navy blue only); • Pants and shorts must be worn firmly at waist level (no loose waistbands or sagging pants); • Belts are required for young men; • Length of shorts must extend from waist to knee; • Pants and shorts must not exhibit holes, rips, cuts (either by damage or design) Prohibited: Sheer or mesh fabrics, tank tops, logos, graphics or text that are not official Lakewood High School imagery.

Accessories • Hoodies with Lakewood High School Logo ONLY; • Zipper or button jackets – clothes worn underneath must be in full compliance with dress code Prohibited: Hats, caps, (while on campus), cordless or wireless headsets, earphones (e. g. Beats), logos, graphics or text that are not official Lakewood High School imagery, and Bonnets. Athletic Uniforms • Student leaders who are involved in an active sport season may wear their FULL TEAM WARM-UPS on the day of a home competition. While not in season, athletes are to adhere to the Lakewood modified dress code.
