Things to Remember When you graduate, your college or your employer will want a copy of your high school transcript. They will see the classes you took and the grades you made. High school counts! To qualify for graduation, you have to pass required courses; if you fail one, you will have to retake the course. If you do that often, you will not be able to take the electives you want to take because you will be retaking required courses. Each grade level has a minimum number of credits to advance to the next grade level. If you do not have the minimum number, you will not be moved up until you make up the credit.

More Things to Remember Keep your grades up because in high school you are earning KEES money for college. A 4. 0 GPA (all As) will earn you $500 your freshman year towards your KEES scholarship. You need at least a 2. 5 (C Average) to earn KEES money. At the beginning of the year be sure to fill out the Free or Reduced Lunch form if you think you may be close to qualifying: KEES boost for passed AP exams, Free AP exams ($94 this year!) Keep a folder of your activities, community service, clubs, awards, etc. for your Governor’s Scholars application when you are a junior and for scholarship and college applications when you are a senior.
