Masks ■ Following federal, state and local mandates, the use of non-medical grade face

These masks must cover both the nose and mouth. ■ Masks must not cover your eyes or forehead. ■ Masks must be worn at all times with the exclusion of eating or drinking. ■ Masks must be made from a solid material. Student are prohibited from making recordings of others whether audio or visual, including but not limited to screenshots and videos, of virtual or face to face classrooms. ■ Students will adhere to the district’s acceptable use policy for technology. Anyone who fails to comply with the policy is subject to being denied privileges of future use and be provided alternate opportunities for remote instruction. ■ Students are expected to behave in a manner appropriate for a classroom setting at all times and in all class venues. Illegal and/or inappropriate activity or behavior prohibited by the Pearland ISD Code of Conduct shall be reported in accordance with applicable laws, policies, and regulations.

Dress Code Handbook Highlights – Shirts – Can be any color, stripes, prints, or plaids. Must have sleeves. – – Pants may be any color but white. – Capris pants are allowed, shorts are not allowed. – – Dresses may have a print – sleeves are required Pants may be distressed as long as there is no skin showing. No holes. Earrings/Piercings – two in each earlobe only When in Doubt, Don’t! Class size is limited and backpacks take up space. Backpacks need to be kept clean and organized. An overstuffed backpack can be difficult to handle and cause tripping hazards in the classroom. ■ Backpacks are for the purpose of carrying your daily school items to include: – Pens/pencils – Paper – Appropriate notebooks for each class – Device – laptop, tablet, etc. ■ Backpacks will be placed under your desk and out of the way during class time. ■ Rolling backpacks are NOT allowed.

Library ■ Students will come to the West Library with their ELAR classes. ■

Library ■ Students will come to the West Library with their ELAR classes. ■ All returned books will be turned in and quarantined for four days per the American Library Association and the Realm Project Study on books. When the quarantine period is over books will be checked in and shelved or given to students who have placed them on hold. ■ When entering the library, the students/teachers should sanitize their hands. By doing this, touching the books should not be a problem. The computers will not be available to look books up on Destiny. Students/teachers will not sit down on any furniture. ■ When students/teachers leave the library, they will sanitize their hands, again. ■ Three books may be checked out at a time. Books are checked out for a 2 -week period (14 days). Manga is checked out for a 1 -week period (7 days). ■ Books may be renewed once via the student’s Destiny Library Account or by coming into the library. ■ Use SORA by Overdrive and your student Destiny Library Account via website to access all e. Books available. ■ The West Library Website has link access to all databases and digital materials available to PISD students. ■ The West Library is currently working on a plan to get physical books to distance learners. When procedures are developed and approved a notice will be sent out.

You will stand outside the library doors after school until the detention teacher arrives. This detention begins immediately after school and ends at 5: 00. ■ Friday Detention – This detention is assigned by the office and will be assigned for more severe offenses. This detention ends at 6: 00. ** Detentions can not be rescheduled on the word of the student. A parent must call the office. *** Failure to follow the rules in detention can result in removal from the detention room and additional consequences from the office.

However, you will not be excused from a tardy if you are late to class because you were in line.

During these time periods teachers begin the class delivering important information for the lesson and end the class reviewing what was taught. For those reasons students are not allowed out of class during these times.

If that happens there is a $15 fee for it to be returned.

Their teacher will send an email to the administrator. All administrators are also available for students talk to in the hallway between classes or in the cafeteria at lunch time.
