Selecting Core Classes • Regular Core Classes • PAP (English, History) • Accelerated (Math, Science) • A combination of regular/PAP/Accelerated • Consideration should be given to current grades and level of involvement in extra-curricular activities when selecting classes
PRE-AP ELA and Social Studies Initial Placement Criteria OPEN ENROLLMENT EXIT • Students may ONLY exit at 1 st progress report , end of the marking period, or the end of the semester. • At end of the semester, all students below 70 will be removed from Pre-AP.
Pre-AP Requirements Language Arts- Students will have independent reading assignments each grading period and a summer reading assignment. The students work independently and at an accelerated pace. Texas History- Student guided projects throughout the year. Organization skills are imperative for success in Pre-AP.
Pre-AP/Accelerated Math/Science Requirements • 85 or higher for yearly average in Math course preceding year to qualify for Accelerated Math. • 85 or higher for yearly average in Science course preceding year to qualify for Accelerated Science. *Highly Recommended Math and Science courses to be paired.

Genius Period Academic Interventions Campus-wide Enrichment Activities
Math or Reading Lab Intervention classes that students are enrolled in to improve math and reading performance on state assessment. Placement is by teacher recommendation and previous performance on state assessments.
