Morteza Katouzian, pintor realista, nasceu em Teerã, Irã, em 3 de julho de 1943. Em 1960 começou a fazer gráficos e trabalhos de pintura profissionalmente. Em gráficos, ele criou vários cartazes, logotipos, capas de livros e brochuras. Em 1974, aceitou a responsabilidade de conduzir a “Teerã Graphics International Exhibition” na chamada “African Starvelings”, recebendo o prêmio “Poster of Integration”. Morteza foi um dos fundadores do Sindicato dos Artistas Gráficos. Dedicou a maior parte de sua vida ao ensino das técnicas de perspectiva, claro-escuro e realismo, de tal forma que a maioria da juventude artística do país o teve como mestre. Em junho de 2008, foi realizada uma exposição com 94 de suas obras no “Saad-Abad Cultural-Historical Complex”, onde ele foi premiado com uma citação da UNESCO em relação a seus 50 anos de atividades no campo da pintura e seus 30 anos de ensino para a juventude iraniana. Através de seu esforço, um livro de pinturas de seus alunos foi publicado em 2005. Morteza possui quatro livros de pintura já publicados. Cinco de suas obras estão no "Tehran Museum of Contemporary Arts" e um grande número de suas pinturas se encontra em acervos de colecionadores iranianos e estrangeiros em diferentes países.

Biography: Morteza Katouzian, realist painter, was born in Tehran, Iran on July 3, 1943.

Biography: Morteza Katouzian, realist painter, was born in Tehran, Iran on July 3, 1943. In 1960 he began doing graphic work and painting professionally. He created several posters, logos, book covers and brochures in graphics. In 1974, he accepted the responsibility of leading the "Tehran International Exhibition Graphics" on call "African Starvelings", receiving the award "Poster of Integration”. Morteza was a founder of the Graphic Artists' Union. He devoted most of his life to teaching the techniques of perspective, chiaroscuro and realism, so that most of the country's artistic youth has been his pupils. In June 2008, was an exhibition with 94 of his works in "Saad-Abad Cultural-Historical Complex, " where he was awarded a citation from UNESCO for his 50 years of activities in the field of painting and 30 years of teaching for Iranian youth. Through his effort, a book of paintings of his students was published in 2005. Morteza has already published four picture books. Five of his works are in the "Tehran Museum of Contemporary Arts" and a large number of his paintings are in the collections of Iranian and foreign collectors in different countries.
