Some universities may wait until January to make offers to highly competitive courses. Consequently, some courses may be excluded may from the December offer round • A list of courses excluded from December Round 2 will be available on the UAC site in early September. ALL courses that the Universities will be offering will be made available on the UAC site in August…the UAC book does NOT tell the whole picture • •

Why preferences are important • Your first preference will be offered if the ATAR matches OR • It moves down the list until it finds a match • Any SRS preference must appear 1 st • Any University Scholarship must also appear 1 st • Newstep can appear as a preference, it has its own code-481550 pg 138

Lets say you have the following five courses listed as preferences and you receive

Lets say you have the following five courses listed as preferences and you receive an offer to your second preference 1. B Life Sciences 2. B Animal Science 3. B Science (Physics) 4. B Human Science 5. B Natural Science ( Animal Sciences) First, you should accept your offer to B Animal Sciences. If you leave the preferences as they are then in subsequent rounds you will only be considered for your first preference.

If you want to be considered for courses other than B Life Sciences you can change your preferences any way you like - even add new ones- Lets say you change preferences to ……. 1. B Science (Physics) 2. B Bioscience 3. B Biotechnology 4. B Human Sciences 5. B Teaching/B Sciences B Animal Sciences has been removed – as long as you have ACCEPTED this offer, your place is kept. If you now receive an offer to a new course, you can accept it and withdraw from B Animal Sciences or not accept the new offer and keep your place in B Animal Sciences.
