Types of Admissions • • First-time College students Re-admitted College Students Transfer Students Transient Students International Students Dual Enrolled Students Accelerated High School Students Note: Application for Admission and Transcripts required to document status.

Basic Admissions Criteria • Any individual who holds a high school diploma may be admitted to any program at the College as long as all other admission requirements are met. (official transcript required) • Individuals without a high school diploma or GED must: – Be at least 17 years of age and have not been enrolled in a secondary setting for at least one year. – Demonstrate college and career readiness with an appropriate score on the COMPASS.

Financial Aid The goal of the financial aid division is to assist students in meeting the cost of their education.

Types of Financial Aid • Federal Financial Assistance • Scholarships • Private Loans • Other Assistance Programs

Federal Financial Assistance • Pell Grant • Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant • Work Study • Alabama Student Assistance Grant Note: Completion of the FAFSA required

Scholarships • Institutional Scholarships (Waivers) • Foundation Scholarships • Third Party Scholarships All scholarships are advertised on the College’s Web site and announcements are sent to students’ email accounts.

Private Loans • Mostly utilized by students who: – don’t qualify for other assistance – have unusual financial needs • Need to support a family while in school • Transportation
