Our Study Programmes • Level 2 OCR Diploma in Sport – 4 GCSEs at

Our Study Programmes • Level 2 OCR Diploma in Sport – 4 GCSEs at 3 or below • Level 3 National Diploma and Extended Diploma in Sport – 5 GCSEs grade 4 and above – Maths and/or English grade 4 or above

Level 2 OCR Diploma in Sport • Equivalent to a GCSE A-C grade. •

Level 2 OCR Diploma in Sport • Equivalent to a GCSE A-C grade. • Designed as a one-year programme. • Aimed at learners looking to progress to Level 3 National Diploma in Sport or employment in the sports sector. • 8 units to be studied over the year of which 2 are mandatory and 6 selected units all of which are externally moderated. • Progression to Level 3 National Diploma in Sport on satisfactory completion of the course

Level 2 OCR Diploma in Sport • Semester 1 – Sept/Feb • Semester 2 – Feb/July • Anatomy & Physiology • Injury in Sport • Fitness Testing and Training • Effects of Exercise • Nutrition • Practical Sport • Planning and Leading Sport Activities • Development of Personal Fitness

BTEC National Extended Diploma Sport LEVEL 3 • Equivalent in size to three A

BTEC National Extended Diploma Sport LEVEL 3 • Equivalent in size to three A Levels. • A two-year, full-time course that meets entry requirements in its own right for learners who want to progress to HE courses in sport before entering employment. • 14 units to be studied over the 2 years of which 10 are mandatory and 4 are assessed externally

Microsoft Teams • To minimise contact and reduce the spread of Covid 19 additional support will be taught for part of the course using Teams. • Classroom tasks and assignment work will be set within regular group meetings held as normal lessons to aid you in the completion of your work.

COVID 19 • We take this seriously and have implemented several protocols to keep you safe while at college: • Timetables and content adjusted to minimalise and reduce contact with students and teaching staff. • Use teams as alternative classroom lessons. • Changed seating positions to respect social distancing. • Designated hand sanitizing location throughout college. • Increased cleaning/sanitizing of functional areas to prevent the spread. • STUDENT RESPONSIBILITY as well as staff

Football in Current Climate • In these uncertain times we will still be offering football as part of your programme. • IF come September we are still in ‘lockdown’ and having to social distance then we will run a reduced football timetable looking at 2 sessions per week with potential limited numbers.

Football in Current Climate • AOC Sport (who organise all College football) have stated

Football in Current Climate • AOC Sport (who organise all College football) have stated that competitive matches will not resume until November across ALL College football. (subject to change) • We will offer comprehensive training sessions working on technique and tactics, fitness for football and where possible look to organise friendlies if AOC Sport and the Government allow it until the full return to competitive football in November.

Grantham College Sport • Table Tennis Academy • The first in the UK, allows both local, National and International players to take advantage of a variety of specialist training. • 4 highly qualified table tennis coaches • Training every evening with competition throughout the year.

Timetable • Due to the current conditions and learners studying at college and possibly being a member of the college football center of excellence or table tennis academy their timetables may vary. • Currently looking at 1 – 2 days of in college study time and 1 – 2 days of online Teams lessons – VLE study experience.

Progression Opportunities Level 4 Level 3 Level 2 • Once you complete the level 3 Extended/Diploma in Sport you will be able to either progress into a career in the Sport, Leisure or Fitness industry or progress onto one of Grantham College Higher National Diplomas in Sport (HND) or other universities • Once you complete the level 2 OCR Diploma in Sport and have achieved at least a C Grade in GCSE English or Maths or equivalent and received a good reference you will be able to progress onto the level 3 Diploma in Sport.
