What is Dual Credit? • Dual Credit is an opportunity for high school students

What is Dual Credit? • Dual Credit is an opportunity for high school students to enroll in a college courses and receive high school graduation credit and college credit for the same courses simultaneously. • Dual Credit courses can serve as stepping stones from high school to college, which establish a path to transfer or technical education programs and careers.

A. ) or an Associate of Science (A. S. ). Up to 60 credit hours transfers to all public colleges & universities in Texas.

Dual Credit Transferability • SPC holds articulation agreements with 4 -year institutions and all academic coursework transfers. • Although courses may transfer, they may not apply to the desired degree plan. • It is the student’s responsibility to seek a SPC advisor and/or the receiving institution’s advisor, to ensure coursework taken applies to the degree in pursuit. • College credit through AP is contingent upon meeting the necessary score in the AP exam. • DC College credit is earned as the student finishes the semester.

(Submitted once a year) ◦ Submit unofficial High School Transcript. (Submitted once, when you initially enroll in dual credit courses) After high school graduation, an official high school transcript should be sent to SPC. ◦ Submit Test Scores from TSI Assessment, demonstrating collegereadiness.
