WHAT IS DUAL CREDIT? • An opportunity for students to take college level classes from South Dakota 2 and 4 year colleges at a reduced rate. ($48. 33/credit, 3 credit class will cost $144. 99 plus cost of books or access to online books) • Students earn college and high school credit. • Courses can be taken online or on campus. • All BOR classes are transferrable in-state within the Regents System. Technical College Courses may be transferrable to Universities but must have a (T) behind the code. (Speech 101 T from STI can be transferred to BOR schools. )
ELIGIBILITY
ADDITIONAL ELIGIBILITY • Certain coursework may need additional requirements: • *English 101 • *Math 114 College Algebra
EXPECTATIONS • You need to think and study like a college student. Professors will treat you like a college student. • BHS has no control over any situation that you have with college classes. • Students should be: • Self-motivated • Organized • Able to communicate with instructors • Use time wisely
WHAT COURSE SHOULD I TAKE? • Check general education requirements you will need for the college that you may be interested in attending. • Some common courses other BHS Students have taken include: • Speech • Sociology • Psychology • College Algebra • English 101 and 201 • Geography

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS • After you have submitted your application: • Form signed by student, parent and school official • High School Transcript (Mrs. Struck) • *If you have not taken your ACT and need that score for eligibility, you will need to submit that when it becomes available. (If you previously took the ACT, this will be available on your BHS Transcript. )
OTHER THINGS TO NOTE • You will get a notification when you are enrolled in the course. • You will do all payment and remaining steps through the college's online platform. • Your grades on college level courses may impact future financial aid elibiility, academic probation at the college, etc. • Questions?
