A Framework for SEND • Add picture page 5
National • Positive experience of SEND system for children, young people and families. • Positive outcomes for children, young people and their families. • Effective preparation for adulthood
Children/young people and parents satisfaction • Personal Outcome Evaluation Tool (POET). • Independent Parental supporters. • Annual Review paperwork for EHCP by the 2. 10. 15
Improving outcomes attainment and progress • Good data available on pupils with a statement/EHCP • Review and moderate Range Model • Reinstate cycle of SENCO and Leadership forums • Stronger partnerships with Education and School Improvement and sector led partnerships DAP, BPIP.
Areas of challenge: Joint Commissioning
Sufficiency of places to meet increasing and changing need • JSNA increase in SEND by 10% by 2018. • Sufficiency of places particularly for pupils with autism. • Value for money. • Implications for out of area budget. • Role of DAP.
To consider • Has your school done all the must do’s? • Do you currently have SENCO meetings as part of your school to school support? • Could you be a representative from your school partnership on a focus group or ‘Readiness for an Area Inspection Group’?
We need to start working for children and young people rather than just systems and processes
