Open Our Eyes that We May See! 2 Kings 6: 11 -18

2 Kings 6: 11 -18 (1) Therefore the heart of the king of Syria was greatly troubled by this thing; and he called his servants and said to them, “Will you not show me which of us is for the king of Israel? ” 12 And one of his servants said, “None, my lord, O king; but Elisha, the prophet who is in Israel, tells the king of Israel the words that you speak in your bedroom. ” 13 So he said, “Go and see where he is, that I may send and get him. ” And it was told him, saying, “Surely he is in Dothan. ” 14 Therefore he sent horses and chariots and a great army there, and they came by night and surrounded the city.

2 Kings 6: 11 -18 (2) And when the servant of the man of God arose early and went out, there was an army, surrounding the city with horses and chariots. And his servant said to him, “Alas, my master! What shall we do? ” 16 So he answered, “Do not fear, for those who are with us are more than those who are with them. ” 17 And Elisha prayed, and said, “LORD, I pray, open his eyes that he may see. ” Then the LORD opened the eyes of the young man, and he saw. And behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha. 18 So when the Syrians came down to him, Elisha prayed to the LORD, and said, “Strike this people, I pray, with blindness. ” And He struck them with blindness according to the word of Elisha. 15

2 Corinthians 5: 7 For we walk by faith, not by sight. Christians must live by faith. This means making choices in life to flee sin and to pursue righteousness in faith. Our enemy is powerful and crafty. But God is on our side. Keep faith in Him!

Romans 1: 18 -21 For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who suppress the truth in unrighteousness, 19 because what may be known of God is manifest in them, for God has shown it to them. 20 For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse, 21 because, although they knew God, they did not glorify Him as God, nor were thankful, but became futile in their thoughts, and their foolish hearts were darkened.

Romans 8: 30 -39 “If God is for us, who can be against us? ” (31 b) “Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us” (37) “neither… shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. ” (39)

1 Peter 4: 8 And above all things have fervent for one another, for “love will cover a multitude of sins. ” love

Colossians 3: 12 -14 Therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, put on tender mercies, kindness, humility, meekness, longsuffering; 13 bearing with one another, and forgiving one another, if anyone has a complaint against another; even as Christ forgave you, so you also must do. 14 But above all these things put on love, which is the bond of perfection.

Romans 12: 19 -21 Beloved, do not avenge yourselves, but rather give place to wrath; for it is written, “Vengeance is Mine, I will repay, ” says the Lord. 20 Therefore “If your enemy is hungry, feed him; If he is thirsty, give him a drink; For in so doing you will heap coals of fire on his head. ” 21 Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.

Colossians 3: 15 -17 And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to which also you were called in one body; and be thankful. 16 Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom, teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord. 17 And whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him.

1 Corinthians 3: 3 -4 For you are still carnal. For where there are envy, strife, and divisions among you, are you not carnal and behaving like mere men? 4 For when one says, “I am of Paul, ” and another, “I am of Apollos, ” are you not carnal? In contrast to the power of unity, there is the weakness which comes from division.

Matthew 18: 21 -27 Then Peter came to Him and said, “Lord, how often shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? Up to seven times? ” Jesus said to him, “I do not say to you, up to seven times, but up to seventy times seven. ” (21 -22) Parable of the unforgiving servant

Matthew 18: 28 -31 But that servant went out and found one of his fellow servants who owed him a hundred denarii; and he laid hands on him and took him by the throat, saying, “Pay me what you owe!” 29 So his fellow servant fell down at his feet and begged him, saying, “Have patience with me, and I will pay you all. ” 30 And he would not, but went and threw him into prison till he should pay the debt. 31 So when his fellow servants saw what had been done, they were very grieved, and came and told their master all that had been done.

Matthew 18: 32 -34 Then his master, after he had called him, said to him, “You wicked servant! I forgave you all that debt because you begged me. 33 Should you not also have had compassion on your fellow servant, just as I had pity on you? ” 34 And his master was angry, and delivered him to the torturers until he should pay all that was due to him. Moral (vs. 35)

Conclusion God’s power is at our disposal when we walk by Faith! (Philippians 2: 12 -13)

Philippians 2: 12 -13 Therefore, my beloved, as you have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling; 13 for it is God who works in you both to will and to do for His good pleasure.
