HISTORY • Based in Bistrita, the BETAK company carries forward the tradition of Transylvanian manufacturers who are held in high repute across Europe for the quality of their products, that conform to the most exacting requirements. • BETAK S. A. was legally established in 1992. Its production activities began in 1995, when a small manual zinc coating facility operated by the company’s sole employee was started up in a rented location. • At present, BETAK S. A. is a SE Europe market leader in hot dip galvanized steel strip production, one of the leading manufacturers of safety guardrails in Romania, a manufacturer of various metal structures and a provider of anticorrosive protection services by means of hot dip and electrolytic zinc coating.

HISTORY • 1992 – legally establishment of the company. • 1995 – start up of the electrolytic facility in a rented location. • 1998 – buying the first hall in Bistrita with a covered area of 4 ksq. m. • 2000 – start up of the HDG steel strip line, single wire - BETAK patented • • • equipment. 2002 – HDG steel strip line was grown to four wires. 2002 – start up Hot Dip Galvanizing parts-unit, in Bistrita. 2003 – buying new hall in Cluj-Napoca with a covered area of 7 ksq. m. 2005 – BETAK starts to export steel strips in UE. 2007 – increase capability for HDG steel strip line at double (8 wires). 2007 – buying the second hall of 4 ksq. m. in Bistrita. 2009 – beginning the production of steel structures in Bistrita. 2009 – start up Hot Dip Galvanizing parts-unit, in Cluj-Napoca. 2010 – start up of guardrail line in Bistrita.

IMAGE • The company enjoys a excellent reputation due to the reliability of its customer relationships and an outstanding prestige brought by its certifications, invention patents, industrial models and registered trademarks. • The quality of products and services is guaranteed by applying procedures required by the integrated quality – environment – safety (QES) and occupational health management.

ORGANIZATION • The organization chart is of hierarchic-functional type, consisting of operational and functional departments and services. • The company management responsibilities rest with a team whose expertise and experience ensure a professional high-performance management. • At present, the company employs 207 people, thereof: Ø 167 working in production; Ø 5 in R & D; Ø 7 in marketing & sales; Ø 28 in administrative positions. • Out of the total number of employees, 27 have graduated institutes of higher learning in various fields, 3 have Ph. D. s, 3 are Ph. D. applicants and 7 attend master classes.
