Hanover County Criteria n n n At the end of the 3 rd grade year ALL students are given the Hanover County Criteria for the 4/5 Compacted Classroom. Students complete an exemplar (word problem) that is scored based on a rubric. Students also complete a 10 question open-ended assessment which is scored based on correct answer and explanation.

What does this mean for your child? n n Very few students will be receiving above level instruction. Those who do will need to be incredible math students. They must be able to handle a heavy work load and have strong mathematical reasoning. They will be setting themselves up for Calculus II as a senior.
