According to Jupiter Research, Digital Music Download sales will exceed $1. 7 billion by 2009. Meanwhile, Time Magazine reports Sales of ring tones reached $4. 1 billion worldwide last year. 2

The Download Functionality Specifications • Download music, ring tones or audio books to any number of portable devices: Notebook, i-pods, Mp 3, phones or burn to a CD. • Simple easy to use interface anyone can master, which includes a powerful and diverse search function. Search by genre, artist or author as well as browse top music and book lists. • Kiosks will be placed in malls, stores, skating rinks and even airports. • For customer peace of mind there is more than one-way to pay. You can use our secure and encrypted shopping cart or pay by cash. 3

The Download Persona 1 Sara is at the mall with her friends and want to download a new song her friends just told her about. 5

The Download Persona 2 Mark is on his way to a party and he is in charge of bringing the music. Since his CD’s tend to get lost at parties he stops at the kiosk to burn a CD with a good mix of party songs. 6

The Download Persona 3 Arthur is at the airport waiting to board his flight to Europe. Instead of going to the news stand he can hook up his computer to The Download and get a audio book for his long flight. 7

Hierarchical Branching I chose hierarchical mapping strategies because the user will have multiple entry points to the site as well as linking to any page from all page. I have kept the navigation to a minimum to have the easiest possible experience with little room for error or getting lost in the site. 10

The Download Project Objective – ABCD Style The Download Music Kiosk will offer touch screen navigation with access to digital music and audio books. Featuring multiple file formats and connections to accommodate different mobile devices as well as CD burning capabilities. 19

Book Downloads Audience Behavior Condition Degree 69 year old Arthur is at the airport with his wife waiting to board a plane for a cruise they have been planning for years. With all the last minute details he forgot to pack his book. He heads over to the kiosk with his lap to download a new audio book. Arthur connects his lap to the kiosk and begins to browse books on the New York Times best seller list. He finds two books to download that will keep him busty during the long flight and while he is lounging by the pool. This is Arthur’s first audio book download. He loved how easy the interface is to use and surprised that his computer cable fit into the machine. Arthur just retired and plans to travel a lot. He can see himself reading (so to speak) all the books he has not had a chance to. He know he will purchase more audio books this way. 20

Book Downloads Audience Behavior Condition Degree Janet, Arthur's wife is traveling with him. She just had cataract surgery and plans on recovering on this vacation. She is having trouble seeing so she has Arthur download the new Jackie Collins novel. She loves romance books. While Arthur has his lap top connected to the kiosk he finds Janet a new books to keep her busy while she is recovering on this vacation. This is Arthur’s and Janet's first audio book download. Arthur sees this is the perfect way to keep his wife entertained and help alleviate the frustration of her limited eye site. With Janet and her limited eye site, this is something that is going to be a great comfort knowing she can still hear all the books listed on Oprah’s Book Club. 21

CD Burning Audience 26 year old Mark is going to a fiends house for a party. He is suppose to be bring the music and he forgot his CD collection. He stops at the download to burn a CD to take along. Behavior Mark doesn't have much time, certainly not enough time to pick each song. He browses the play lists and finds a mix he know all his friends will like. He burns 2 CD’s and he is on his way. Condition Mark loves music and he has the best mixes of music because of this he is always designated to bring the music. Before each party he stops by the download to burn a good mix. Not to mention the CD never makes it home with him. Degree Marks computer at home is just about of storage space. Burning at the kiosk is quick and easy and the mixes are great. He always burns his music at the kiosk. 22

Gift Credits Audience 32 year old Terri is roaming about the mall trying to find a birthday gift for her 18 year old nephew. She hardly knows her nephew because of the long distance. Her nephew lives 2 states away. She comes across The Download Kiosk and her searching for the perfect gift is over. Behavior Terri has a large family with many nieces and nephews. She spends a great deal of time looking for gifts that will be appreciated. Now she can purchase credit on the download knowing it is the perfect gift. Condition Purchasing credit on the kiosk will save her a lot of time and she knows the gift will be appreciated and used on something the recipient will enjoy be it a book, music or ring tone. Degree Terri will save a lot of time when It comes to gift giving. She can just purchase credit on The Download knowing her money will not go to waist on gifts no one wants or needs. 23
