Notes about Credits • 24 credits are required for the majority of grads •

Notes about Credits • 24 credits are required for the majority of grads • For students turning 19 this year, 7 credits are required (just the grade 12 credits) – ‘ADULT 12 program’ • Friday, June 1 st – all potential grads must have ONLY ONE CREDIT REMAINING (must be in progress) to work on in June • Monday, June 11 th – all potential grads must have lessons and final exams written on or before this date in order to graduate • Students will automatically be added to the ‘ 2019 Grad’ list, if they don’t successfully complete their last course on or before Friday, June 8 th

N. to Georgia Complete lessons – work towards weekly goals Attend regularly and no lates! • May-June: – Thursday, May 18 th, 11 a. m. – grad photos – Complete all but one credit by June 1 st – ALL GRAD FEES/TICKETS payable to Monique in the office during the week of Monday, May 28 th to Monday, June 4 th (CASH ONLY, please) – Bring CD/memory stick to gather photos • Monday, June 11 th – all lessons/finals must be submitted; students must pass classes • Monday, June 18 th – grad rehearsal/set-up ALL DAY – mandatory for all grads to attend – meet at St. Luke at 9: 00 a. m. , leave for St. Cecilia’s together

Graduation Day Info • Tuesday, June 19 th – Graduation Day! – Grad fee - $40 • Grad Cap potential additional fee – Mass, exercises, luncheon all located at St. Cecilia’s Parish – 5020 7 th Ave. From the Lewvan, turn west on 7 th – about 7 blocks from Lewvan – Number of guests to exercises is unlimited – Number of guests to luncheon – 7 per grad and $20/guest – All fees payable to Monique in the office (cash or money order only, please) – Monday, May 28 th to Monday, June 4 th

Graduation Day Info cont’d • Tuesday, June 19 th – Timeline for grad day (all at St. Cecilia’s Parish): • Liturgy – 11: 00 (Grads must arrive at 10: 30) • Exercises (Gr. 8 & 12 ‘diplomas, ’ school awards, etc. ) – 11: 40 • Luncheon (slideshow, lunch, etc. ) – 1: 15 (approx) – Grads’ attire – lots of options: boys – shirt/tie, black pants/white shirt, suit, etc. ; girls – dress (how formal is up to you); corsage/boutonniere, etc. , is up to you – Grad escort not required – Samantha available to take photos of grads on grad day

Special Graduation Info cont’d ‒ Career Spotlights • Open to all students, these are approx. half-day on-the-job experiences. Students choose from career experiences, arrange own transportation to and from the experience, spending a half-day investigating a career of their choice. ‒ Career Fairs/Post-sec tours, presentations • Open to all students, these are experiences that help students gain an understanding of careers or post-secondary institutions of interest. ‒ Career Cruising • Open to all students, this is a website where students can complete strengths-based quizzes and questionnaires designed to identify possible future careers. A word on ‘Graduation Anxiety’… • Students sometimes push themselves hard to be ‘finished

A word on ‘Graduation Anxiety’… • Students sometimes push themselves hard to be ‘finished school’, but then… • Some students become worried/anxious when they know they are almost finished • The worry may be about…starting new at postsecondary, leaving a place they were comfortable in, not knowing about what career/schooling they want • If students are experiencing this, they should come and see Georgia and we can work on coping strategies.
