Scheduling (for • • th 10 grade) Informational process began in fall (career assessment, grad planning/course book) Formal process was done by Jan. 2 nd (presentations/selecting) Currently am correcting course selection with students who had too few/many classes Schedules will be adjusted and available in August
Things that need to be Considered • • • Check for prerequisites. MSHSAA Eligibility- Students must be currently enrolled in 3. 0 credits and have passed at least 3. 0 credits in the prior semester (6 courses) to be eligible for sports. ESY for credit recovery or Health, PE, Personal Finance
Considerations continued • • Add study block for access to supports/help Driver’s Ed not offered, but available locally Foreign Language (minimum 2 years) recommended for 4 year college bound students. Students should continue to be involved in extra curricular activities. • Goal is to have your child in the classes that fit their interests and abilities. • Balance between Pushing vs. Over-scheduling

LAUNCH-Online Learning • • • Kirkwood has partnered with Launch-Missouri’s virtual online academy providing personalized learning options for students Online Learning Today-opportunity for students to take traditional virtual courses taught by quality, certified Missouri teachers Highlighted courses at KHS- Health, Personal Finance, Psychology, Fine Art Appreciation: Music Enrollment calendar-students may take 16 -week traditional semester courses or 8 -week quarter courses (same content, but accelerated) Enrolling your child-Kim.
