GPSF INTRODUCTION and HISTORY Act of Parliament in 2002 established the Ghana College of Physicians and Surgeons (GCPS) - provide quality postgraduate training in Medicine in Ghana Prof. Nyame, the first Rector of the newly created GCPS founded GPSF in 2002 - collaboration with Ghanaian physicians in the US to support the mission of GCPS - serve as an advocacy group to influence health policy in Ghana - educate the general public about numerous health care issues in Ghana and Africa - support non-profit health initiatives in Ghana by Ghanaian and health professionals in North America

GPSF ATLANTA ELECTIONS/BALLOT • Ex-Officio President 2018 - Dr. Raphael Buckle – mentorship of elected board members • President – calls/leads meetings, set chapter goals and ensure success of goals, generate presentations for meetings • Vice President – fulfill president duties if needed, arrange meeting venue and needs for meetings • Treasurer - maintain chapter financial records, stay in contact with National GPSF, assist in securing funding for meetings • Secretary - prepare meeting report and submit to National GPSF, maintain membership contact list, update Chapter website • Medical student/resident Outreach Director – engage medical students, residents, allied health, and premed college students to join GPSF Elected Board members will voluntarily serve a term of 2 years

D - $100 yearly APP, RN, Allied Health, etc - $50 yearly In-training status or students - GPSF scholarship until matriculation Dues are payable on GPSF website and select GA Chapter Due each calender year by December 31 of the previous year 2018 dues are due by August 31, 2018 at 50% discounted rate

Align with national goals - Tarkwa Municipal Hospital Mission - GPSF Faculty Bank 3. Mentorship - actively seek young and aspiring healthcare students for mentorship - create a pipeline of mentors 4. Membership communication - email - create “whatsapp” group? - meetings q 3 -4 months 2 more meetings for 2018 around late September and December? 5. Local activities – fundraising, community outreach, 5 K runs, Homeless shelter health screens
