What is NEHS? The National Elementary Honor Society was established in 2008 with two

What is NEHS? The National Elementary Honor Society was established in 2008 with two main purposes: • To recognize students who have achieved academic excellence and demonstrated responsibility and • To engage those students in meaningful service and leadership activities.

NEHS Rules: • Students MUST have Honor Roll all year long: A’s 1 A’s

What is a Service Project? Service Projects While based on academic accomplishment, membership in NEHS encourages both leadership and social responsibility. NEHS recommends that chapters reach out to the school community by striving to give back to that community. NEHS members are uniquely qualified to serve as school leaders; sharing of members' enthusiasm for and love of language and literature, especially within the school community, is greatly encouraged.

Service Projects: NEHS students MUST do four service projects! • Student Project – Due on March 17 th, 2020 – Students must turn in a report showing his/her work (Service , photos, hours, letter from the place) - I will enter the projects in a contest for a National Competition. • NEHS Serving the Community – Promised Land Academy (Special School) – December 18 th, 2019 10 Volunteers needed – Reading / Food/ Fun Activities – Adopt a Child!!! • Autism Walk – April 26 th, 2020 – Doral Central Park – 7: 30 am – 11: 30 am • I-ready Challenge (in School Project) – May 12 th, 2020 10 volunteers needed
