The Academy consists of the following Scheduling and payroll procedures St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office Maryland State Police Radio System overview Fire Overview Board of Education Landmarks and addressing overview Quality Assurance Phones Systems Water Related Incidents Review and Test/Quiz Emergency Management Detention Center Animal Control EMS overview State Fire Marshal County Tour Customer Service Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) Meters/NCIC Awareness Weather Incidents

TRAINING & QUALITY ASSURANCE Required Training Certificates: • Emergency Telecommunicator Certification (ETC) • Emergency

TRAINING & QUALITY ASSURANCE Required Training Certificates: • Emergency Telecommunicator Certification (ETC) • Emergency Medical Dispatcher (EMD) Certification • Emergency Police Dispatcher (EPD) Certification • Emergency Fire Dispatcher (EFD) Certification • Maryland Electronic Telecommunications Enforcement Resource System (METERS)/National Crime Information Center (NCIC) • Adult and Pediatric CPR/AED through the American Heart Association Once successfully complete the training academy the new employee is assigned to a Certified Training Officer- Phase I- 160 hours- Navigating Special Operation Procedures, Human Recourse Policies, Geography and Mapping, Radio Verbiage, Basic CAD Functions, Phase II – 150 hours - On the job Training - Phones and call taking - Radio - Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) - Customer Service Phase III- Independent work, training objectives, Chart (trainee must explain, demonstrate and perform their duties)
