GPA & Rank Grade Point Average and Rank In Class Ø Six Semester GPA/RIC will be available the first part of October. Ø Seven Semester GPA/RIC will be available in mid. January. Ø Final Rank will be calculated after the 5 th 6 -weeks, but students must complete the 6 th 6 -weeks to complete the course, receive a passing grade to be awarded credit for final GPA calculation. College Admissions What you need to know NOW
Several ways to be admitted College Admissions 1) Top 10% Rule • Applicant is automatically accepted to any Texas, public university • Applicant MUST complete application to the Texas university. • Financial Aid is not guaranteed • UT has different acceptance rule (This year 6%) 2) Assured admission • Minimum SAT/ACT score and RIC meets required formula for acceptance
Several ways to be admitted College Admissions 3) Admission Review • Holistic application review • Courses, grades, rank, test scores, activities, application essay, recommendation letters, etc. are reviewed thoroughly • What matters to universities: ü Rigor/relevance of the courses taken in high school ü SAT/ACT scores ü Overall Transcript ü GPA ü College Essays 4) Provisional ü Admission on a probationary status ü Summer school may be required ü Certain GPA must be met

Shots and Records 1) 2 nd Meningitis shot required for college course registration. 2) If you already have your shot, provide a copy to the CHS Nurse, Amy Gearhart.
Integrity 1) Make sure ALL of your information and your child’s information on ALL applications (college, career, financial) is factual. 2) Falsifying documents is not a “victimless crime” and is a federal offense.
