Career & Technical Education (CTE) Career Pathways What is a Career Pathway? A pathway is a sequence of classes that help you prepare for education and careers in current or emerging professions. If you take 3 credits in a pathway you can be a pathway completer. *1 will be a class that lets you apply the job skills you’ve learned! What are the benefits of completing a pathway? Pathways teach you important career skills, give you real experience, let you “try out” various careers before you graduate, and can give you free college credits & certifications!

Business Finance (Accounting) 5. Business Marketing & Advertising 6. Early Childhood Development and Services 7. Family, Community and Consumer Services 8. Teacher Training 9. Culinary Arts and Management 10. Fashion, Apparel and Interior Design 11. Graphic Design 12. AV Communications (Audio/Video and Journalism) 13. Web and Digital Communications 14. Programming and Software Development 15. Health Science/Medical These pathways offer opportunities for practical experience. Seniors may be offered internships in an area business as the culmination of their study in these areas. Pre-requisite coursework begins as early as 9 th grade, so planning ahead is key. Students considering further study in these areas after high school, students needing skills to work their way through college, or students desiring to enter the full-time work force after graduation should consider taking classes in these CTE Career Pathways.

College Credit in High School Concurrent Credit Courses – These are classes at THS

College Credit in High School Concurrent Credit Courses – These are classes at THS in which approved high school teachers teach at the college level during the normal school day and students enrolled may be eligible to obtain college credit if they meet prerequisites and placement scores. Dual credit - Classes in which a high school student travels to the college campus to take courses prior to graduation during the academic year or in summer. More information is in your Course Description Handbook. Steps to apply, test (if applicable), and enroll are available in the Counseling Center.
