Summative Assessment Year 1 9 -10: Able to accurately perform and record Orthoptic tests

Summative Assessment Year 1 9 -10: Able to accurately perform and record Orthoptic tests for patients with binocular single vision and concomitant strabismus. To use this information to make a diagnosis and suggest the management options. Excellent communication skills and professional behaviours. Uses own initiative where appropriate. 7 -8½ Able to accurately perform and record most Orthoptic tests for patients with binocular single vision and concomitant strabismus. To make a diagnosis where test results concur and be aware of main management options. Very good communication skills and professional behaviours. 6 -6½: Able to accurately perform core Orthoptic tests, use the information to attempt a diagnosis and be aware of the management options. Good communication skills and professional behaviours. 5 -5½: Testing technique shows minor inaccuracies. Knowledge of management options not comprehensive, or reflective. Some communication difficulties which hamper investigation and management.

Some communication difficulties which hamper investigation and management. 4 -4½: Testing technique shows inaccuracies but reasonable observations. Unable to perform full investigation to reach accurate diagnosis difficulty using results to inform management. 2 -3½: Testing technique, interpretation of results and knowledge of management options are lacking. Poor communication skills which have a detrimental effect on the investigation and management of the patient. Resulting in unsafe practice. 0 -1½ Inadequate testing technique and interpretation of results. Knowledge of management options is absent. Poor professional manner. No progression demonstrated and practice unsafe.
