PROGRAMS GATE (Gifted & Talented) • Identified through LAUSD procedures. • Academic-Related Areas: Intellectual, High Achievement, Specific Academic. • Talent Areas: Performing Arts, Dance, Leadership, Visual Arts, Creative SAS (School for Advanced Studies) • Program to address the needs of identified GATE students in academic-related areas or meet the criterion to be identified. • Permit issued for students who do not reside within school boundaries. • Extension for the Gifted Magnet schools • Different SAS schools throughout the district.

BUDGET • Purpose of Funding: Provide school with money to augment the instructional program

BUDGET • Purpose of Funding: Provide school with money to augment the instructional program for GATE students and in the identification of potential GATE students from all ethnic, linguistic, cultural and socio-economic backgrounds. • Amount Allocated to School: $25 per identified student. • Example of Expenditures: instructional materials, professional development activities, instructional equipment, and curricular field trips.
