Arc Resistant Ratings • Device Limited • Device limited ratings use a tested protective

Arc Resistant Ratings • Device Limited • Device limited ratings use a tested protective device (main device) to limit the duration of an arcing fault. In device limited rating, no specific time duration is stated. • A device limited MCC will be comprised of a specific combination of devices. • UL requires a 3 cycle clearing time for a main device (50 ms), therefor clearing the arc when the protective device clears. • Duration Rated • A duration rating is based strictly on quenching the arc in a specific amount of time. • The rating is independent of other protective devices or types of devices in the MCC. • A duration rated MCC will be comprised of the maximum amount of device combinations. © 2017 Eaton.
