Elena Flerova nasceu em Moscou, na União Soviética, em 19 de dezembro de 1943. Flerova graduou-se no “Surikov Fine Arts Institute” em 1969. O seu trabalho de pós-graduação valeu-lhe uma bolsa de estudos na “National Academy of Fine Arts”. As suas obras incluem murais, telas e outros tipos de decoração de interiores para residênciase edifícios públicos. Todas elas evocam a mística, a essênciae varredura de eventos e fábulas históricas e religiosas. A forma como a artista usa a luz e sombra, cor e composição equiparam-nacom velhos mestres europeus. Todas estas propriedades são eficientemente utilizadas por Flerova para transmitir tanto humor como o movimento em suas pinturas. As pinturas de Flerova são conhecidas por sua iluminação radiante, resultado de múltiplas sobreposições de branco e tons até que um brilho, que parece vir de dentro, seja alcançado. A Arte de Flerova se estende do passado ao futuro. Flerova evoca uma época diferente com suas cuidadosas pinceladas, seu estilo e técnica. Biography: Elena Flerova was born in Moscow, Soviet Union, on December 19, 1943. Flerova graduated at the Surikov Fine Arts Institute em 1960. Her top graduate work won her a scholarship to the National Academy of Fine Arts. Her work include murals, paintingsand other types of interior decoration for homes and public buildings. They all evoke the mystical, the essence and sweep of events, historical and religious fables. The way the artist uses light and shadow, color and composition equate her to the old European Masters. All these properties are efficiently used by Flerova to impart as much as humor as the movement in her paintings. Flerova’s paintings are known for their radiant light, the result of multiple overlays of white and hues until a glow that seems to come from inside is reached. Flerova Art extends from the past to the future. Flerova with her careful strokes, her style and technique evoke a different era. She is a painter, but also an illustrator for magazines, watercolourist and printmaker. The artist has received various awards and honors.
